I've been experimenting with a few different styles of picks. And these ARE IT. Perfect size, nice and small for string skipping, fast leads etc. It just feels right when I'm using these picks. I find for fast picking and leads, smaller is better!

I've played for 13 years and have been through a great many pick styles, thicknesses, materials, brands, gimmicky features and empty manufacturer promises. These picks are zero frill quality. No gimmick, no BS, just a comfy pick that glides on strings like butter with full clarity and precision. Nothing I've tried since has compared, including the original Jazz III, which is smaller. I've got very large hands, so I can recommend the Jazz III if you find the JP Jazz too large.

I asked one of the fellers at one of the shops here, and he said try the JP Jazz III. That was probably 8 years ago. I cannot remember. Anyways, still using those picks and I still have them all over my room.

Not as much grip as I would like, as my hands are either too dry or too sweaty when I play. They are slightly bigger than a Jazz III. Very smooth going over strings, making tremolo picking easier. They sound great too. I was too used to the size of a Jazz III, so I sanded down the pick to make it smaller and give it some more grip.

This is a great pick, stiff and slippery on the strings. It's got a nice click to it thanks to the Ultex material. It's bigger than a Jazz3 but a bit smaller than a Tortes pick, sits nice on the thumb. For fast leads it's near perfect. A great pick overall. Try one.

I've been playing guitar almost twenty years, tried every pick out there. Speaking personally, these JP ultex are the best picks I have ever played. Little bigger than Dunlop jazz picks, not as big as tortex or 'standard size' picks. That perfect sweet spot. I knew these picks would be perfect for all styles of playing from shred to strum, still my expectations were exceeded.

When the new Dunlop "Ultex" Sharp picks came out I was instantly a fan. The attack, fluidity and grip were outstanding. This pick outdoes the original with its polished tip and jazz size grip. Pure shredding ability.

Ok, I consider myself to be a relatively skilled guitarist. I'm classically trained, but I play hard rock, metal, jazz, prog rock, and funk. I've played on and off for 40 years. I've tried hundreds of picks of all sizes and densities, but I've never been really happy with any of them. I always struggled to understand why my picking hand could never stay clean in fast riffs. Now I've FINALLY found a pick that can keep up with the speed of my left hand...and stay CLEAN! After only five minutes warm up with this pick my hands were flying up and down the fretboard of my Strat and Music Man JPX special edition. It glides over the strings with strength, definition, great tone versatility, and accuracy. Thank you John Petrucci, and thank you Dunlop!
