This guitar is amazing. Such a good bang for your buck guitar. At 1000 less than a regular classic and 1300 cheaper than a standard it's absolutely amazing. I love satin finishes and this was right up my alley. The pick ups sound great and are punchy. I've had this guitar almost a year now and I've loved every second of it. My #1 for sure.

I honestly thought I was going to walk out with a Standard 60s, but this guitar kicked its butt. This stripped down Classic was punchier, and sang better IMO. As a traditionalist I wish it was hardwired and not a PCB, but it certainly didn't show any short coming in the sound comparison. My plain top has a bit of flame in the centre so it doesn't look too "plain", I don't really like the over top flame tops so this was perfect for me. The faded finish has an interesting look to it. I'm sure this is my new #1 player.

Personally, flame tops and gloss finish are not on the list of priorities. I think the faded finish is absolutely gorgeous and the rather plane top has it’s charms. I much prefer the smoother, slicker “non-stick” neck over the gloss finish. I don’t think 9 hole weight relief affects the sound any more than just using a different piece of wood. I am glad the coils don’t split, I understand the aesthetic preference for point to point , but the truth is you cannot hear a difference, because from a technical standpoint, there is none, at least not audibly.
Other than that, it is just a typical, authentic workhorse LP.
Because a good review has to include some negative assessment, I tell you that I do not like the way “classic “ is written on the truss rod plate. That is my only criticism.

This guitar is an amazing player which makes it hard to put down. I understand that Gibson sends all their Les Pauls through a PLEK machine to ensure a perfect fingerboard/fret/nut alignment and it is immediately evident from the first chord you strum. Before it’s even plugged in you can feel the sustain and crystal clean resonance. Once it’s plugged in, the pickups (61R&61T) treat you to an extremely well-balanced voicing with an ideal amount of individual note clarity. Guitar has such a nice sound.
This specific model’s retail price is only 2/3 the price of the Les Paul Standard. ($2199 vs $3299) So, while it represents a good value relative to its Gibson siblings, it is still a hefty price to pay for a guitar with a tunomatic, two humbuckers and a three-way switch. It loses marks in terms of value because you can buy an Epiphone classic worn and have it PLEKed and swap out the pickups and you’d have an equally good musical instrument for about half the price. Therefore, I reckon that half of the actual monetary value in this instrument is found in the last inch of the headstock which contributes absolutely nothing to the instrument’s playability or sound. But it has that LCF. (Look Cool Factor)
In terms of features, this specific model does not have the four push/pull pots that the same year’s Les Paul Classics do. That was disappointing because it is billed as a Classic, but lacks the electronic components that a LP Classic is supposed to have to differentiate it from a LP Standard 60’s. Thus, the only differences that I can see between this and a LP Std 60’s are satin nitro instead of glossy nitro and less figuring in the maple cap. Neither of these features can be heard and, to be honest, the neck actually feels more playable in satin than in gloss, It’s also a very “plain-Jane” machine that is still using 70-year old technology and design. That said, behind the back plates you find circuit boards with the pots embedded in them. There are quick-connect ends on the pickup leads, which reflects modernization, but that makes finding and installing aftermarket pups a bit of a challenge. Another feature that gives a bit of frustration is the tunomatic’s intonation adjustment screws that move the saddles back and forth to correct intonation. They are difficult to access with a tool. A highlight, though, is the wood grain texture on the back and on the neck. That contributes to making this an unbelievably pleasant instrument to play and makes you not want to stop.
Pros:

2. Sounds awesome

I’ve had this Guitar for just over a year now. I absolutely love it! Great feel, great tone, nice action, nicely balanced. I was fortunate because mine has some not so subtle flame in the top which adds to its appeal. I walked past it, went home, agonized for five days, went back and bought it. Have not regretted it. Some guys are disappointed about the pcb controls. I’m a bit of a traditionalist myself but I have to say that I’m not disappointed by the pickups or the controls on this and honestly see no reason to change anything at all. Overall it’s a wonderful guitar for a very reasonable price.

Is what you'd be thinking if you're buying or playing this guitar. 🤔
I was unpleasantly surprised when finding out about the PCB but regardless, it IS a amazing guitar and I quickly forgot about that feature after holding and playing this amazing feeling slim neck and it's wood grains along it.

Love the satin finish.
The plain top is a beauty.
Neck is somewhere between slim taper and 50s rounded. I usually like 50s necks but this thing is just silk.
Zebra pickups are hot and versatile.
Great build quality too. Can't wait for this thin nitro to age

I’ve been dying to have a Les Paul for years now, but I’ve never been able to find one for a decent price that wasn’t scooped up before I could get to it. For the money you get a legit light weight, high output pickup les Paul for just $2199. I love the neck pickup because it’s not to bass like and I can get a great 60s blues tone and a great Satisfaction tone. Now there are some little things that annoy me such as the tuning stability some days and the little spikes on the saddles which sometimes dig into my hand, also if I had to readjust my EQ settings on my Boss Katana because my other guitar had very heavy strings and there for I needed more treble, where as this guitar produced a lot more high end because of the pickups and also had a lot more feedback, but after some adjusting I’ve found the sweet sound. All in all I love this guitar and it really is a dream come true. All the positives out way the negatives a huge amount.

But this guitar kicks butt! Sounds perfect though. Very rich and wholesome sounding. Good value. Nice and heavy like it should be. No push pull pots, not necessary anyway.
