POLAR 12 combines outstanding audio performance with ultra-convenient handling to provide the easiest way to the best sound. Its 24-bit DSP and high-grade speaker components deliver exceptionally clear and natural sound from 35 Hz up to 20 kHz. The premium subwoofer design and 2,000 watts of high power amping ensure an XXL sound experience from whisper-quiet to massive volumes.

A wide coverage angle of 120 and an outstanding resistance to feedback make it easy to position POLAR 12 in any venue. It can even be placed directly behind the performer, meaning no separate stage monitors are required. POLAR can be set up without the spacer for even more flexible positioning options, e.g. on high stages.

While POLAR 10 suits all typical applications for column systems well, POLAR 12 excels in situations where high-powered bass is needed for continuous operation over longer periods of time. Featuring a larger cabinet and a 12″ woofer, POLAR 12 delivers the extra helping of low end that bass enthusiasts love so much. This makes it an excellent choice for DJs who have to pump out a big bass sound throughout the gig. In contrast to the usual bass boosting with electronic filters, the powerful bass of POLAR 12 is produced physically by the long-excursion woofer in an acoustically optimized, wooden cabinet. Thats why POLAR 12s bass delivers higher sound pressure and headroom even when levels spike, keeping the mid and high frequencies in perfect balance at high volumes.

The onboard 4-channel mixing console offers two mic/line channels, a dedicated instrument channel, e.g. for acoustic guitar, and an Aux channel for music players, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 Audio Streaming options. Users favorite POLAR 12 settings can be stored in five individual user presets.

The new E.A.S. connection system makes cables obsolete and guarantees easy setup, while ensuring POLAR 12 sits securely and stably in any location, and the included gig bag for the columnar elements and a cover for the subwoofer make handling even easier.

I recently switched to these speakers for my DJ & Audio Visual Business. I previously had Yorkville Parasource 12s. I am a big fan of Yorkville. This is a completely different creature. I feel the Parasource 12s are louder. However the HKs have a better fuller sound with less listening fatigue. The wide throw dispersion of sound fills a room. The clarity of the mid and highs is amazing and the thump of the 12 Inch subs have a great thump. Seems to be a great value.

I was at a band practice where a BOSE Column was being used and the thing sounded amazing. I went to L&M to buy a BOSE but saw this and heard some music being pumped through via Bluetooth. Absolutely floored by the great sound and bought it immediately. So the thing sounds great for doing Bluetooth channelled music. Problems are getting a good sound with a mixer input. Tried to use it at one gig with a very nice Allen and Heath board. Could not get the volume up to anywhere near the Bluetooth channel and had to bring in other speakers. Tried it again as a monitor from a Mackie board. Again, not enough volume to be useable (well, we did use it but the hiss was so bad from being cranked it might have been better not to have it at all). Taking the same line level signal into my Yorkville Parasources and there was no problem. Also tried switching to mic vs line input. same deal. Also these are taller than the Bose systems which can be an issue on low stages, additionally, it says the centre connector can be eliminated so there is just one column top, but mine does not work this way. One last thing - it says 2000 watts, but compared to my Yorkvilles this must be peak watts and not RMS. I would recommend this for a DJ or house system but not for anyone performing.

I have been using PA gear over the past 25 years. I have owned 9 systems since 2008 of my own with units from Yamaha and Yorkville. This was my first time taking the plunge on what I considered an "unknown" brand. I bought these purely based on other local DJs in the area's opinions and to break these in, I set them up in a large hall. Once the music went up, I could easily tell that these were up to the task. I would even be willing to bet that just one could do this venue on its own. From the get go, I have been getting compliments on the sound at almost every gig that I have been playing to ever since. People come up to me to let me know how great these sound. The Bluetooth works great and the built in mixer is great for doing simple mixing for things like ceremonies. A few things I would like to see added/modified - An option to sent one audio channel out via the Mix Out XLR jack so 2 speakers can do bluetooth in Stereo - A way to send the mix out of both speakers to each other so that the 3 channels on each can combine to make 6 channels to use for live sound over both speakers. Despite giving the Features a "4", I will still rate this speaker a "5". I highly recommend that you not delay purchasing this speaker since with inflation, I am sure these will increase in price like all the other speaker models have done.

After doing a lot of online research of many different similar systems, I came across this column on L&M's website. I went and listened to a Polar 10 at one of their local showrooms, very nice full sound with very good mid range warmth and clarity and the bass was tight. For my intended application I knew the Polar 12 would be my choice and it does not disappoint. At this price point you cannot go wrong with this column, from its sound to its construction it is impressive. I have been using Yorkville Elite speakers for 23yrs, this is the first time I ever considered, and purchased, another brand. HK stands behind this product giving you a 5yr warranty, how can you go wrong with that ? If you have been thinking about getting one of these column style speakers, do yourself a favor and go check one of these out. The only thing that is a con about it is that it has no built in reverb, not a deal breaker for me, but it's important to note.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
