I sing classical music and opera, and teach vocal music at the high school level. Singing into the standard blue surgical masks is difficult because it doesn't stay in place well with the greater movement of the face in singing, and it doesn't allow one to take a good proper breath between phrases. The moment I tried this on, I could feel so much more freedom to breath deeply and to sing without worrying about it sliding beneath my nose. While the sound quality is still somewhat muffled, this is to be expected from singing into any mask. It does seem like I am able to project a little better in this mask than the standard blue surgical masks, but the biggest benefit in my opinion is the comfort factor.
I have only had the mask for a week now, so I cannot speak to its durability and longevity, but it does seem to be made of good quality fabric with a solid metal nose wire that stays firmly in place.
It is a little on the pricey side, but I like the a small portion of the proceeds of this mask goes towards the Broadway Relief Project. Overall, I really like this mask so far and if I am going to be singing in public where I am required to wear a mask, I would much rather be wearing this than anything else I've tried thus far.
