Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX
When the Prophecy Series was first introduced in 2008, it was hailed by metal players the world over as the ultimate combination of tradition and innovation and the perfect guitar for serious shredding, all within the stylish lines of the classic Les Paul form.

The Prophecy Revealed
The Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX Outfit brings back the axe loved by metal shredders around the world. And now the EX Outfit includes elegant mother-of-pearl and abalone block and triangle inlays and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup.

The New Tradition
The Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX Outfit features a mahogany body with a stunning quilt maple veneer top that's available in two beautiful color finishes, Midnight Ebony (ME) and Midnight Sapphire (MS). The super-fast mahogany neck has a SpeedTaper D-profile with a satin finish and a 24.75" scale. The elegant ebony fingerboard has 24 jumbo frets, a 14" radius, a standard 1.68" graphite nut, and beautiful mother-of-pearl and abalone block and triangle inlays on the 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 and 15th frets, alternating with mother-of-pearl blocks on frets 17, 19, 21 and 24. The Clipped Dovewing headstock has 5-ply white and black binding with a mother-of-pearl "Stickpin" design on the headstock face, a vintage style Epiphone logo in mother-of-pearl, and Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX in white silkprint on the bell-shaped 2-layer truss rod cover.

The Prophet Meets Les Paul
Fans of the original Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX love its EMG high performance humbuckers. The Prophecy Plus EX features an EMG 85 humbucker in the neck position and an EMG 81 humbucker in the bridge position. Both pickups excel at high volume and are a favorite among the world's top metal players including our own Zakk Wylde for their beefy tone. Each pickup design features close aperture coils with Alnico V magnets for a smooth tone that can go from 1959 to far into the future or anywhere in between. The choice is yours! And for the first time, the EX features individual volume and tone controls for each pickup. The EMG pickups are powered by a 9-volt battery conveniently located in the back of the guitar for easy access.

Epiphone Hardware Built to Last
Epiphone is renowned for its outstanding hardware. The Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX's stunning black hardware goes beyond anything seen before in the Prophecy Series. The EX also features black metal barrel controls with mother-of-pearl inlaid tops, our legendary black LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and LockTone Stopbar tailpiece, an Epiphone exclusive non-rotating heavy-duty output jack, and black Epiphone Straplocks. The EX also includes black Grover machine heads with a 14:1 ratio for superb tuning accuracy, just like you find on all the very best Les Paul guitars.

The EX also includes a hard case so you have the security to take your EX anywhere the music takes you.

I have a bunch of higher end guitars, but I bought this wanting something inexpensive to be used for tight rhythm's and heavy music. The EMG's are tight and responsive, and they don't mud up on the lower end. The laminate top is beautiful. All the hardware is tight and of decent quality. Really impressed. Oh, and the case it came with is really nice. If you're looking for a solid 'heavy guitar", or an upgrade from a beginner model I strongly recommend this. It's superior to any LTD I've tried, and the price is far better. My only criticism is that it needed a minor adjustment. The truss rod had a strong concave bow that I had to work out.

Right out of the box, this guitar (Original Prophecys) is just like a Custom Shop guitar...beautiful neck...nice and slim...fantastic tone thru the EMG's...love the Ebony Fretboard with the Custom Fret Markers....low action...no buzz...better than any Gibson at more than twice the price...and you get 24 frets as well.

Looks and sounds amazing!!! Does have a beefy neck and is fairly heavy. Had to modify battery case as the wires plugging into the battery did not give enough room to plug and unplug comfortably. However Definately one of the most attractive guitars I've ever seen. I was immediately drawn to this guitar

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
