The Piedmont Blues set presents the beginning harmonica player with an affordable way to sample playing in seven different keys (G, A, Bb, C, D, E, F). Each harmonica has a matte black finish with gold trim and the entire set comes in a zippered case. Packaging includes a cardboard sleeve with printed instructions and a key chart to get you started.

First a warning, these smell and taste funny out of the box. Kind of like pinesol. Probably the adhesive used for the case. It’s gross but is going away. Let them air out with the case opened for a while.
It’s kind of difficult to rate these. They are cheap plastic harmonicas. However I think they are awesome, because they are cheap plastic harmonicas. Perfect for trying out the different keys and carrying around care free.
I bought them a few days ago from Calgary East. Because I’m still a beginner on harmonica and wanted to check out different keys on a budget. I plan to take them on vacation without having to worry about them getting broken or something.
If you are looking for a gift for someone who has never played I would suggest a single inexpensive metal harmonica in the key of C. Less expensive than a full set and with care it will last until they wear it out or lose it. Once they wear it out buy them a really high quality replacement.
I suspect this set is not suitable for a young person who could possibly break all seven of these pretty quickly. If your child builds and displays plastic models or collects similar delicate things they might be an exception, but I suspect like any regular children I am going to break at least a few of these accidentally.
I’m giving them a 5 for features. Seven keys of cheap functional harmonicas and a nice case? Yes please.
I have seen previous reviews that said they take a bit of extra force to play but mine take less than my Hohner Bluesband. Maybe the really good harmonicas are easier to play.
I noticed people complaining about getting duds like one or more with bad reeds, so I took someone else’s advice and checked them with the bellows in store before buying mine. Fortunately they were all ok.
I gave mine a 2.5 for quality because they are perfectly fine, they all of worked out of the box, and look great so far. I understand the inexpensive materials will not last long if I use them like I should. So that might be a bit too high.
For less than the price of most high quality harmonicas you get seven harps in different keys and a pretty decent 7 space case. So that’s 5 for value in my opinion.
The tone is ok, mine play fine, but obviously they can’t sound like one made of wood and metal. I’m going to go a bit high overall because I’m happy with them. 4.

I bought this for the case.
I was hoping that the harps would be viable backups to my performance harps. They are not.
Satin finish is awkward to play.
I took one apart to deal with reed issues. It wasn't servicable. Manufactured with reeds offset to holes was enought to end any thoughts of tuning them up.
I am happy with my purchase. The case is good value. The harps will be stocking stuffers for the grand kids.

Hi the harps are junk from the start, a toy really to mimic the real thing. Buy if you want a case for your real harps. $40 for a case.

An OK starter kit to figure out which 'key' of harp you need/like.
This set contains 7 harps, each for a different key, all packed in a nice little case. The case is great but the harps included feel cheap as they are light weight and made of plastic.
A single $10-$30 metal harp will resonate and respond better requiring far less effort (breath) to play. As you figure out which harp(s) you like you will definitely end up replacing it with a better harp.

These are great for kids or if you just want a toy instrument. They don't come close to the sound and quality that you'd want if you play harp. (like a plastic toy ukulele vs real)
But, like others said the case is cool, and I use my set as a decoy for friends when they want to play my harmonicas (gross!).
If you're a beginner looking to start out, don't buy these- they'll bum you out. You're much better off going quality over quantity and just get one harmonica (my fav. is G)

I had my Brother from another Mother mule this set down to me in Manzaillo, Mexico this past December. Since they are not made of metal, they are perfect in this very humid climate that I live in. I am truly enjoying learning to play my new toys in paradise.
It was always a dream as a Saskatchewan teenager in the 60s, to retire somewhere in paradise with an endless supply of worry be gone and to spend my time playing my music on a set of harps. I have had 2 out of 3 for the past 9 years and now thanks to Hohner, and my mule, I'm finally livin' my dream!

Unless you play harp full time you will enjoy these harps... for the casual Neil Young or Tom Petty song in the kitchen these things are awesome. Don't listen to the negative dead note nose in the air reviews if you want good harps of course a metal harp is the way to go! You are getting 6 of these for one of those.
If you like kitchen jamming and the old half assed harp part these are the right ones!

Every harp had dead notes.....checked out another new package and the same thing. Can't believe the Horner put put such a poor product. The only good thing is the case. Buyer beware!

I bought these and after a couple weeks gave the set away. Inhaling the overpowering fumes of the plastic literally made me nauseous. I even tried washing one out with soap, etc to try to advance the dissipation but it never really went away. If it wasn't for the fact you have to inhale I would have kept them. I simply couldn't get past putting that in my lungs. I have other harps with at least some plastic that don't exhibit this "feature".

Look good. Case is worth the price on it's own. Not great for bending although I have not had them long enough to really break in.
