New for 2012, the AC-6 Resonator Banjo may stray a bit from the traditional wood body banjo design, but it packs a punch like no other and will stand up against any 6-string banjo in it's price range. The rim and resonator are molded from a composite material that is strong, consistent, and durable. Whether this is your first 6-string banjo, or you seek the ultimate travel banjo, this banjo packs more than enough heat to echo through the hills and shine in any campfire jam! Padded gigbag included.

This instrument has a great sound at first, but once you try to master it, you barely hear the second note if you do a slide or a pull, the touch is VERY HARD and gets worst going down the neck. It is a very good alternative for people who do not want to learn banjo and get a sound for background banjo ambiance, but do not expect to play a good sound quality solo on this. Also the composite resonator is VERY VERY fragile, don't drop it !! But overall, it is good.

The solid neck has a smooth and fast feel, playability great, easy transition from playing guitar to having fun on this plucky ganjo. Components are solid and sturdy. I might lower the action a bit as I get to know the instrument, but no problem out of the box. It's a keeper!

Have owned this for a while now. The tail piece cracked and broke and was replaced by Goldtone with a ?better quality? one. This new one is also junk, it has broke apart and is unusable as well. Also the plastic body ring is cracked. Don?t throw away your money on this.

Bought this for a recording session and Live use. Spent most of the session trying to keep it in tune. Stock setup was poor, but passible. Tone was "ok". The action was pretty high, and the neck was flexible to the point of rubbery. Bringing it home, I spent a good 3 hrs trying to get it setup and playable/sounding good/able to hold tuning. After a long, tedious setup I went to try the pickup only to find tap hat the Jack was installed so close to the head, you cannot get a 1/4 cable into the jack. Enough... This piece of junk it going back to the store.
