I play a pedal steel and normally use a session 400 amp. I bought the stang for smaller venues, as it weighs less than a session. On a whim I used the stang in an outdoor amphitheatre with a loud band. I did have the master volume at 7 - the session would have been around 4 - and it nailed it! No mic, no board input, just the amp. No noticeable noise or hiss, and could have went louder. The tone is excellent. I do not care for the fuse software but the lcd does let me modify most parameters. There is a very good android app called Remuda, as well. No output for a cab speaker, and only one instrument input, so I fabbed up a ABY box. If you have never used a modeling amp, it can be very frustrating at first. Once you learn, the iii, iv, and v are easy to use and modify. Now that the gt100 is out, maybe there might be some good deals on the mustang iii

This is a great AMP. If you don't have a tube AMP of the original it's trying to emulate you won't notice the slight difference of Tube AMP to Modeling AMP. The Practicality it's Modeling of 57 Twin, 65 Twin Reverb, and 59 Bassman. Those are worth it just to be able to switch between. The practicality of using Fender Fuse Software on your computer is like this. You dial in all the sounds and tones you want in the song then you save the setup to a Computer. When you want to play that particular song the Mustang takes the setup from your computer and puts it on the AMP(you can name the Setup your saving=as the name of the Song itself). Wow, instant information in and play. This is wonderful. I wish I had gotten the Mustang IV the twin speakers would be great. However, Fender does not make them anymore so if you see one buy it you won't be sorry.

After spending months of researching, I bought this lil baby. This is hands down the best value for money of ANY amp on the planet. The precision control of settings & effect (ex: being able to dial in EXACTLY 421 milliseconds of echo) are priceless. I've had this amp for a couple of years, during which I've bought and/or traded atleast half a dozen guitars. But I feel no need to replace this amp any time soon. Or ever for that matter. A++++

I have played for over 40 years and through some of the best amps made. This Fender amp is not of that caliber...but...what a great amp it is. Truly one the best designs in a small amp I have ever seen. The cost is also an outstanding feature considering all that you get. I use it for recording in my home studio. With stereo balanced line outputs, it is unbeatable in terms of convenience and quality. I plug it through a MOTU 896HD and it sounds amazing. Another great feature is that this amp can be very, very clean ...and I like that. Most modeling amps I have played through have a sound that is not all that there; they seem to sound like they are trying too hard. Not this amp. Sometimes I am actually fooled into thinking I am listening a tubed amp. I particularly like is this amp's version of the Fender Bassman. The effects section - and here I am the most critical because I don't care for effects - are quite nice. For the most part they are free of that aliasing you find with most on-board effects. Also, the amp comes with a foot pedal. It is upsetting to have to buy a foot switch separately when buying a new amp. The Internet interface is intriguing. I have downloaded many presets and find some to be very usable. What I found good about that experience is the sense of community I get. I am planning on uploading some of my own presets as well for others to hopefully enjoy. I highly recommend this amp. Well done Fender.

I've had this amp for a few months now and still love it. This is the first modeling amp I've tried that responds to playing dynamics. My strat sounds like a strat and my gibson sounds like a gibson through it. The fuse software is very intuitive and deep, but in all honesty, I just pick a bare bones model (tweed bassman, marshall plexi, vox ac30 etc) and start making adjustments on the amp itself. If you play out the 4 button switch is a must as it allows you to: 1. jump to any 3 presets 2. turn on and off effects 3. scrol up and down through presets 4. select the tuner I have only one gripe and that's the sockets like the headphone, usb and line in.. they feel kinda cheap. But it does have a 5 year warrantee. After that..buy another.

I was looking for a low wattage amp for jazz. My old Roland cube had just about given up and I needed a backup. This amp was just what the Dr. ordered. There is a lot in this amp with unprecedented editing, but I was able to dial in my sound in minutes using a barebones Fender Bassman or Deluxe. The two amp sounds follow each other in order and thus operate as 2 regular amps. I just add a little reverb or delay and I'm good to go. No regrets with this one.

Both guitar players in the band "Wilbush Whiskey Club " are using mustang 3 amps , awsome sound from our JAZZ or CLASSIC covers , ............clean sounds or driven dirt......we use the Twin model for clean and supersonic with both gains on 2 for dirt. A-B the mustang to the real tube amps .... we could not definitivly tell them apart , but , we liked the Mustang in our blind sound test . Set the sag in 2nd level amp settings to more ....more = tube sound .

Very versatile, fantastic sound, tons of presets, and tons more if you plug in a laptop using fender fuse. I am totally satisfied with this purchase. Did I mention, it rattles the windows at 5.... I'm not sure what will happen if I crank it to 10 :)

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
