I recently got this stool, a gift from my wife at Christmas. It seemed very simple to pit together unfortunately the small panhead screws are not long enough to join the footrest to the legs. I had to go to Home Depot and buy 4 longer screws, not a big deal but certainly an inconvenience. Check the screw package before you bring it home if you purchase this item, maybe that's why there is no floor model.

I have one on the 24" models with the Gretsch logo seat. I find it's the perfect height especially with the foot rest ring. It's your typical imported kit assembly but it went together just fine, although I recommend using you own tools instead of the included wrench if you want to save a few knuckles. I read a review where the owner had ruined his hardwood floor because the leg pipe cut through the plastic cap and damaged the floor. I found that removing the plastic cap and placing a quarter (25 cent coin) on the end of the leg tube before replacing the cap over the coin provides a flat surface that won't cut through. If fact my stool wouldn't sit flat so I placed two coins on the opposite legs and now it's perfect. Good solution for $1.50
