Honestly, I love the concept and the way the pick feels, but I’m extremely disappointed in the quality of the pick itself. It sounds like the cheapest plastic pick you ever tried, I expected a bit more from a $9 guitar pick. Truly, it sounds like I’m playing with the tag off a loaf of bread.
I tried filing and sanding to take the edge off but no luck.
If it was made of something like Dunlop’s tortex picks or better yet, partner up with another Canadian company like Graph Tech whose picks sound more natural, and you’d have a world class product.

I never got used to a thumb pick as I would hook a string on the upstroke often. I use cat tongue flat picks but they tend to still slip or go flying. Once I got used to the Black Mountain, it was perfect for picking, strumming, bass lunes etc. Put it on and never think of it...

The spring means your thumb is not picked off from blood flow and the regular pick means you get a natural sound when strumming. Moreover, it makes not decreeable difference in sound from a regular thumb pick. This is a GAME CHANGER!
