Get your young jazz band down and dirty with this driving blues shuffle at about 132 bpm. It's a terrific chart for teaching swing phrasing and articulation. The features include moderate ranges, notated rhythm section parts, and an open solo section. Any player can solo with notes from the concert F blues scale using the included transposed scale sheet, and the solo section can be repeated as many times as necessary with backgrounds cued as desired. For students wishing not to improvise, a suggested solo is included in all parts. Scored for full jazz ensemble, it will sound full and complete with an optional minimum instrumentation of nine players (AAT Saxes, 2 Trumpets, 1 Trombone, and PBD Rhythm). Include more players by using any or all of the included Flute, Clarinet, F Horn, Tuba, and Baritone T.C. parts. Highly recommended!
