Gold Tone SMP+ Sliding Magnetic No-solder Banjo Pickup
Description
The SMP+ is a Sliding Magnetic Pickup that requires no soldering, and no need to drill a hole through the banjo's rim. It's installed onto the coordinator rods and it can be slid to any position between the neck and the bridge to get the tone you like. Mounting the SMP is very easy and requires no tools other than the included hex wrench.
The pick-up kit contains:
(1) SMP pickup with slotted bracket and two screws and wing nuts
(1) Output Jack with mounting plate and two screws and nuts
(1) Accessory kit containing 3 stick wire clamps and 1 hex wrench

This looked like a great solution for my Goldtone CC Plectrum Banjo, but it DOESN'T FIT! The mounting device for the input jack cannot be attached to the J hooks as directed, there is no room for the metal bracket. I hunted down a YouTube video from Goldtone on how to install this pickup, and a customer from 6 years ago made the same complaint about the mounting bracket not fitting the CC 100 models. The reply from Goldtone was that he "needed new shoe lugs". Maybe mention that this device won't fit many banjos before customers like me waste a day on this, with important gigs coming up...This pickup is going back to the store tomorrow.
