I jammed with a friend and he had an actual 1964 Pro-reverb. I fell in love with it,, but to find one is tough and super expensive(and heavy) So I watched tons of video reviews on new Pre-reverbs, Deluxe Reverbs, etc. I felt with playing country, rock, blues and using Les Paul's, Tele, Strat, 335 that this 68 Deluxe Reverb would be the one,, and it is!!!
I bought this amp used and over the phone from the Edmonton North store. The staff as always, were very helpful and accommodating.
I have 3 other tubes amps, HotRod Deluxe, Blues Jr, and a Peavey Classic 20. They all are solid amps , but I must say this 68 Deluxe Reverb Issue is a step up and I'm going to unload all 3(might keep the Jr)
The reverb is awesome and I love the Tremelo on this amp, and having them on both channels is perfect. The 65 doesn't have this feature. I was going to go with the 65 but I wanted this feature and so happy with the 68. Also the baseman tone stack is nice in the custom channel as well. And the silver face looks classy
The amp can be as quiet as you want or loud.
Takes pedals with zero problems. I run a Line6 HXFX as well as MXR OD.
If you can afford one, go for it! This will be my for ever amp. It's weight is not bad either.

This is a great sounding Amp and has tone for days.Having reverb and trem on both channels is the icing on the cake. I broke out my A/B/Y box the other day and had a little shoot out between this amp and my TMDR(Tone Master Deluxe Reverb). The Tone Master is a great sounding amp and is close to the sound of the Deluxe Reverb, but you can tell the difference. Where the Tone Master shines is in the weight, having an attenuator, and a direct out with mic IR.But overall digital cannot totally replace a tube.The '68 Custom Reverb RI takes pedals like a champ. I would highly recommend this amp for the home player and definitely for the gigging musician.

This is my first tube amp and was impressed by the overall quality and features. My only concern which is still unresolved is the presence of an electronic ticking sound when using the tremelo / vibrato pedal. I have taken it back to the dealer and I'm awaiting a tube replacement. Apparently Fender is aware of this issue which is longstanding in this series. I will have to decide if its other features outweigh the annoyance of this issue

Play a fender guitar through this amp and you will never find anything close to the warm tone and reverb of this amazing amp. My favourite input is Vintage #2. Warning, you will have a difficult time turning it off and getting back to reality.

I bought the Electric Blue version with the Celestion Creamback in it. I must say the speaker changes the whole complexion of this amp for the good. Way better than the flabby sounding Celestion V-70.
It takes pedals well and has more than enough sag at 3 or 4 . The vibrato is very strong or subtle depending on your taste. It's a keeper.

This amp sounds amazing. It's essentially a 2 channel amp without a foot switch. It's got the custom on the left side, which was designed to accept pedals and does so very well. I have about 3/4 of Boss's distortion pedal line up and they sound great. Running and a/b switch will let you foot switch between the Custom and the Vintage channel which is warm and bright and great for clean tones with chorus or the built in tremolo.
The amp does have it's draw backs however, the biggest probably being the fact that it does not have an effects loop and only has bass and treble controls on each channel - no mid. It's also a little pricey at almost $1400. Hard to find another amp on the market that can do cleans like this amp though.

I have been on a determined tone quest for the past year. It started with my 1969 Traynor Guitar Mate simply being too ice picky and shrill. Went inexpensive with a Blues Jr IV. Nice little amp but sounded a bit boxy and didn't quite have that classic Fender chime. Could have been the fact it didn't use 6V6 tubes?! Traded that for a beautiful 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue. Definitely a step in the right direction! Luscious reverb, incredible tone but I just couldn't get enough chime and headroom and full blown I wasn't in love with the overdriven sound. So back at it and landed on this 68 CDR. I had settled on the 65 Reissue but the Reverb and Trem being available on both channels was a plus. The two different flavours provided by the Custom and Vintage channels is a great addition but mostly the 68 Custom just plain sounded better. Yes it has less clean head room but it has a warmth the 65 does not have and never ever gets shrill. When you turn it up to 7 or higher and lean into it its pure classic rock bliss. Turn your guitar down to 7 and it's a blues machine. It is VERY touch sensitive. It will provide apple evidence of your lack of finesse but this will force you to get better. For the beautiful tone I can coax out of this check any live Teskey Brothers. Lead guitarist Sam Teskey uses one of these and it is in my mind, perfect tone.

I have a collection of metal tube amps. I was looking for something bluesy and light. I bought a blues jr. and returned it (not enough headroom) I plugged in this and it sounds so good, clean and clear, breaks up nice when pushed. I added a fulltone ocd and this amp just shines. Build quality is there and its light & easy to carry. BTW I choose this 68 over the 65 because of the "custom" circuit. it has the bassman tone.

Bought this new. After only about 40 hours of total playing time it died. I only used this amp at home and rarely turned the volume past 3. Always had a loud pop when switching standby off or turning power off. Been in for repairs under warranty and not impressed as it has been over two weeks now and still no word on the repairs. Will buy a Vox next time.

This amp sounds amazing, and I haven't even been able to get it past 3, even that shakes my entire basement. It does come with a pretty steep learning curve though, or at least it did for me.
Some things to be aware of before buying this amp; there is some idle hiss by design, the reduced negative feedback that fender lists as a feature is the culprit behind this mystery hiss. What they've done with this amp is preform a pretty common mod and swap out the original resistor (hence the "custom" name) for one that lets more sound/electricity through. I'm sure there is a more "techy" way to describe it but the bottom line is greater touch sensitivity and response in return for some built in hiss. This hiss can be GREATLY reduced by setting the volume of the channel you aren't plugged into to zero...which is somewhat disappointing as I was hoping to a/b the channels with a switcher but it's just too loud. The reverb can also bring the noise floor up a considerable amount when turned past five but I never go that high anyway, I've read just turning the tank around fixes that, which in no way voids the warranty but mines been fine so far. The hiss is really only noticeable when you aren't playing anyway. There is a pop when turning it on standby, just part of the package.
On to the Reduced negative feedback; it's a nice feature but also a bit of a double edged sword in that the thing can get SO LOUD when you dig into a chord and SO QUITE when you play a melody. This isn't a knock on the amp at all, if anything it's just revealing some inconsistencies in my playing but it is sort of annoying when I'm playing at 2am then accidentally hit a chord too loud and BWONG my whole basement is rattling. So just something to be aware of if you're comming from a solid state or valve preamp/modelling deal like I was, they aren't joking when they say it's responsive, it reacts drastically to changed on my guitars volume and tone knobs as well, which is awesome but takes a little while to learn the sweet spots with each guitar. In fact when I first brought it home I was pretty dissponted, I thought it sounded very dull. Turns out I just needed new strings, something I just didn't notice on my modelling amp. World of difference after a string change. This amp reproduces every little thing you give it, the good and the bad.
And lastly is the tone stack, the EQ on this thing is a little different than most modern amp designs in that there is no mid control and the treble and bass controlls interact with each other. I've found it's best with them both at 6 on home volumes then just bring them down a bit as you start turning up. People always say fender amps sound scooped in the mids and I thought that as well when I was setting both my treble and bass at 3 when I brought the thing home...i was actually getting pretty disheartened until I turned both controlls up and BOOM instant mids, sweet, sweet midrange! I read somewhere that fender set the mids on these things to around 7 in the factory But then just didnt include a potentiometer for the mids to bring costs down.
So that's been my journey so far with this amp, it really is great and it's the best sounding amp I've ever played through. Plenty loud for gigs and built really solid. I don't plan on parting with it ever, the speaker is starting to break in and sound SO sweet. Stock tubes sound fine to my ear but this is my first tube amp so what do I know haha. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase, I love this thing more every day and it just has the mojo..its just got that thing! You know what I mean.

Big, full, warm sound.
Unlike the previous versions both channels have reverb and vibrato. Both channels have thier own distinct personalities.
Since the channels are in phase you can channel jump and blend them for some additional cool sounds.
This amp does it all and does it very, very well.
At 4.5 to 5 it absolutely sings.
Imho it's the perfect amp.
Plenty of power, warm yet crisp beautiful cleans, breaks up very nicely when pushed, and won't make your ears bleed getting there.
Just awesome.

After a few tries L&M got a noise free example of this amp. It has no loud hiss, no tremolo tick and no loud pop when going onto standby. It is worth waiting to get a newer production date of these amps as they seem to have sorted out the initial problems. This amp is definitely one of fender's best sounding amps and more versatile than a vintage deluxe reverb.

Very excited to get the new 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb, awesome looks and amazing sound. Unfortunately mine had a varaible hiss, sizzle and crackle noise problem which was just bad enough to force me to return it before 30 days.Tried to exchange for another 68 deluxe but it was way worse than mine and needed to go back to Fender. Finally exchanged for a used 65 Deluxe Reverb which was dead quiet with no hiss. Not impressed that I had to pay over $100 to exchange the amp because I had it more than 3 days (I financed $150 of the purchase) Will not finance anything in the future even with 0% finance sale because of restock fee. I have tried to post my review on this item two times already with no luck. Hope Fender gets these sorted out because these amps are amazing without the noise problem

The fender 68 Custom deluxe reverb comes as close as you can get to being the perfect do-it-all amp. The shimmering fender cleans are on the vintage channel are as good as any vintage fender. The 68 also has an upgraded speaker, added touch sensitivity and a Bassman Eq channel added to the mix. This makes the amp able to cover more classic Fender tones you wouldn't expect from a deluxe Reverb. The Reverb is deep and spacious and never gets out of control or tinny. The Tremelo is organic and adjustable from barely noticeable to psychedelic. The amp is almost perfect except for some hiss sound which is present when not playing. Also, some degree of tremolo tick and pulse sound. I may do some tube swapping to see if a different tube brand will help. I'm not sure if amp design differences or construction makes the 68 noiser. It's a minor distraction that keeps the amp from being a perfect 10.

This amp sounds as good as my original 68 drip edge Fender amp which I didn't think was possible. The 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb does everything you expect of a great Fender amp but also will appeal to a wider range of guitarists than ever before. The added versatility of a Bassman Eq'd channel and wide frequency range Celestion speaker makes this a great amp for more music styles and genres. These amps are manufactured using computer assembly build quality so treat it like a well built computer in a sturdy cabinet and it should last. The tubes are mounted on the chassis which eliminates the possibility of premature PCB failure common to many other cheaper amps. The noisy Groove tubes are the least groovy thing in these amps other than dollar store footswitch which Fender included to show they have a sense of humour. This amp hisses, pops and makes ticking noises at random times but also may be the best sounding Fender amp of all time. If Fender made this exact amp in a point to point version I would sell my soul (or car) to get it. Until then I'll count on Fender's 5 year warranty if the amp has a problem.

If you want balanced chimey cleans with lush reverb and tremelo look no further!! Amp has 2 tone circuits with 2 totally different sonic capabilities. Custom Channel has so much bottom end (great for Jazz). Beautiful vintage looks too. Takes pedals great (especially on Custom channel). I've been searching for this sound for 30+ years. I currently have a Mesa, Rivera, Marshall and Fender SuperChamp and this amp TRUMPS them all. Jazz to Rock and everything in between. The reviews on youtube DON'T do justice to this amp. I recommend trying it out for your own earholes. I tried the Supersonic 22, Hot Rod Deluxe and this amp on the day I bought it. This one outshone them ALL!

C’est pourquoi Long & McQuade offre une année GRATUITE de sa Garantie de fiabilité sur la plupart de ses produits. Cette couverture, qui bonifie celle du fabricant, vous procurera la tranquillité d’esprit que vous recherchez.
En quoi la garantie Long & McQuade se distingue-t-elle de celles des autres fabricants?
- Fiabilité assurée : l’usure normale de certaines pièces est couverte. Le produit fonctionnera aussi bien qu’au premier jour pour toute la durée de la protection. Pour les instruments d’orchestre, nos techniciens et techniciennes évalueront la nécessité d’effectuer un nettoyage en profondeur, un remplacement de tampons ou un nettoyage à ultrasons. Ces services ne sont pas offerts systématiquement dans le cadre de la Garantie de fiabilité.
- Possibilité de remplacement : si votre produit est irréparable ou coûte trop cher à remettre en état, nous l’échangerons contre un modèle identique ou équivalent, sans frais supplémentaires. Si ce n’est pas possible, nous vous accorderons un remboursement complet.
- Politique anticitron : si votre article présente un problème récurrent, nous le remplacerons.
- Accessibilité : vous pouvez vous prévaloir de votre garantie dans n’importe quelle succursale Long & McQuade.
- Réglage de guitare : une mise au point gratuite est incluse à l’achat de toute guitare neuve ou d’occasion.
- Prêt de matériel : un produit de rechange peut être mis à votre disposition pendant la réparation de votre article.
- Survoltage couvert : l’appareil est garanti même s’il est endommagé par une surtension.

Long & McQuade se réserve le droit de limiter l’achat d’années additionnelles. Les produits d’occasion sont protégés par la Garantie de fiabilité pour une durée de trois mois. Certains articles (logiciels, cymbales, etc.) sont couverts uniquement par la garantie du fabricant. Les biens non durables (cordes, anches, baguettes, piles, tubes, etc.) sont exclus, tout comme les dommages accidentels, la détérioration esthétique et les problèmes causés par l’humidité ou la température. Les haut-parleurs endommagés par un usage excessif ne sont généralement pas couverts. Notre garantie ne compense pas la perte de jouissance. A partir de juin 2018, la garantie de performance n'est plus transférable. Valide seulement au Canada.
Achat d’années additionnelles de garantie
Certains fabricants offrent une garantie de plus d’un an, mais qui est en général limitée et moins avantageuse que la nôtre. Lorsque c’est le cas, la prolongation de notre protection vous sera tout de même profitable, du fait qu’elle est plus complète et pratique.
Vous pouvez acheter des années supplémentaires de notre protection si vous souhaitez en profiter plus longtemps. Les tarifs sont les suivants :
- Produits NEUFS : à partir de 4 % du prix actuel de l’article à l’état neuf par année supplémentaire.
- Produits D’OCCASION : à partir de 4 % du prix actuel de l’article à l’état neuf pour passer initialement de trois mois à un an. À partir de 4 % pour chaque année de plus.
- Guitares : 4 % du prix actuel de l’article à l’état neuf pour passer d’un an à deux. 4 % pour chaque année de plus. Tarif maximum de 45 $. Une mise au point gratuite supplémentaire n’est pas incluse avec l’achat d’années de couverture additionnelles.
- Instruments d’orchestre : 4 % du prix actuel de l’article à l’état neuf pour passer d’un an à deux. 4 % pour chaque année de plus.
