After being frustrated with some cheaper stands, I decided to try this one. Fender hasn't let me down so far, and I knew it'd be a safer bet to go with a trusted brand. This is 70% as good as my trusty Hercules hanging stand. It isn't as foldable and therefore compact, but the quality seems comparable in most ways.
My only gripe with it, is the neck cradle is tiny in comparison. Alot of guitars with wider necks and larger headstocks need to be carefully placed, and don't recess into the grooves fully. This puts extra pressure above the nut, and will likely lead to checking in that area over time. Extra care is required when placing/removing most guitars, and it seems best to come in and out from an angle. If they made a wider neck cradle, this would be almost perfect. At almost half the price of a Hercules, it's a good alternative, and does the job.

I assembled My New Metal Rig at Long and McQuaid.
This stand does what you want and it works for odd shaped guitars. I bought a Jackson Warrior and this works for it. The stand holds the neck and perhaps some headstocks might not work for this stand, but it would have to be thin and straight. Height is adjustable and there is foam everywhere you want it. I adjusted the height until my guitar would barely touch the tripod feet and where it sits there is foam so I don't worry about the finish. Can be adjusted to completely hang the guitar. Sturdy, affordable, works for your Flying Vs, Warriors, Mockingbirds, Iceman and any other odd body shape.

Bought this for my son's Thunderbird bass hoping it would fit and it does! I wish the plastic parts were metal but I really can't complain. It feels very secure and sturdy even at maximum height which is required for the Thunderbird. It would be nice if there was a backrest for the guitar to lean on. However, even though the bass is the weird shape it is, it fits nicely. Recommended!

I own two of these stands, which hold my Gretsch G2657TG and Ibanez RGA61AL. Both guitars, which are completely different style electrics, sit nice and secure on the Fender hanging stand. No issues whatsoever and I will be purchasing a third stand once I get a new guitar sometime in the future.

It does what it says, it's a good guitar stand, However not sure how I feel about the way the guitar rests on the bottom of the stand, especially for J basses with an oddly shaped body.

the groove on the back of the upright is off centre from the hanger causing the guitar to hang wrong. useless. fender seems to have trouble with some of their accessories. had 3 fender barstools before getting one with the right parts. I'll go back to Hercules stands.
