Ron starts with a look at Arthur Smith, the granddaddy of American fiddle, to show how much he influenced everyone that followed in the 1940s. From there he takes six prominent Flatt & Scruggs fiddlers and teaches representative recorded solos from each of them.
Solos are taught from the playing of these seminal fiddlers: Arthur Smith, Jim Shumate, Benny Sims, Howdy Forrester and Benny Martin
