I have tinkered with other brands ( Dean Markley, Dunlop, Fender, Gibson and GHS Boomers) over the 40 years I have been playing and I always come back to these. They last longer and are harder to break. The strings I routinely get with Gibson or Fender guitars when new I always rip them off. I have tried Dunlop( too stiff), GHS( sound better and loud but break sooner). I have tried other gauges and I find 10s and above uncomfortable even in half step tuning. I have used 8s a long time ago but they are not heavy enough so have stuck to the pink package EBs almost always. And cheap too. I can't fathom spending nearly $20 for strings with coatings as I tend to change strings fairly often once the strings sound dull.

The world's best strings for under $7... how can you possibly go wrong? Ernie Ball could easily double the price and everyone would still use these things, so I give them a world of credit for keeping the price so ridiculously reasonable. I think they're the only strings I've ever bought. My SG loves 'em and I love the tone.

I have tried lots of different strings over the years and I wound up settling on these for my current guitar (Peavey g-ninety). They sound sweet and powerful and they don't break, even when I torture them with the tremolo bar. One thing about any Ernie Ball strings, especially if you are using a guitar with lock nuts, make sure the string is well and fully stretched the full length of the string before doing your final tuneup. They require a little more stretching and breaking in than other strings.

I've been playing these same strings since 1976. I still play use them on all my guitars. Some of my guitars have the hybrid of these strings. If it ain't broke don't fix it.....Hell if Jimmy Page says they ROCK then I am not gonna argue with The Sorcerer .....

These strings give an amazing tone. The only problem is the breaking for me. One night I was tuning up to standard (EADGBe) and the high e snapped when it got to around Eb or so. Still really good sounding strings!

I remember seeing this being featured by Slash in a guitar mag. I tried it on my les paul and was not disappointed. Bends are no problems, it will keep in tune. Feels soft and comfortable on long periods of play. I also used it for my strat.

If I had to pick one string that sounds great and feels great, and which you can buy at any guitar store, it would have to be the Nickel Wound Super Slinky. I see why Jimmy Page has used it his whole career.
