I already owned a Player Tele and was considering adding a third p.up to create the Nashville setup. I saw the ‘real deal’ hanging on the wall, and when I played it, my mind was made up. I got a fair trade on my existing Tele and I have been happy with this one. I like the extra options of engaging the p.ups with the ‘push/pull tone control. I also bought a new amp to go with this guitar. You can call me a satisfied customer.

I really enjoy playing this guitar. The big plus for this model is the wide variety of sounds and tones you can get out of it, especially with the 5 position toggle and push pull knob. Honestly, it was a bit surprising. The finish is nice, I like the comfort cutaway, and it looks great with the pao ferro fretboard. The only downside for me is the thinness of the neck. I really like playing the fatter tele neck and this one is definitely on the thinner side. If this had a fatter neck, it would definitely be my number one and is versatile enough that it's the only guitar you?d need to do a show. That's my 2 cents.

My wife bought me this guitar last year, and it's an awesome guitar, plays amazing and sounds everybit as good as I expected it to..I own 4 very nice Telecasters, but this one is just a little extra than my others, and having the Stratocaster pickup is a definite plus on this model. The neck and rolled frets feel silky and smooth, bends are easy and flawless..If you're looking for THE TELECASTER...This is it!!

The new Fender Plus guitars are amazing in every way. I liked this guitar so much that in the end I purcased two more Player Plus guitars, another telecaster and an stratocaster.

I got a love for single cut solid bridge guitars (my others being Gibson Les Pauls at the moment) and I've always had a forbidden love for the Tele. I briefly owned an American Pro 2 tele in butterscotch blonde and various Strats so I'll compare this to those. Due to my love affair with Les Pauls I found myself needing a bit of "stratiness" in my repertoire so I went for this. As mentioned earlier I like Telecasters and adding a middle pickup with a push-pull feature for a total of 7 different pickup configurations is a pretty sweet combo. My guitar came in a sealed box straight from Fender even though I bought it at L&M. Out of the box the guitar was slightly out of tune (detuned a bit) but it was a quick fix. The action was fairly ok. I liked the rolled edges on the fretboard but I found the frets to be somewhat rough when bending, so I'll have to polish those frets when I change the strings. The Pau Ferro fretboard is ok, but I wish it had the rosewood. Somehow though this looks ok on this guitar. I was going to get the butterscotch blonde one but in person this one looked a bit nicer to me. The paint job is very beautiful in real. My biggest enjoyment on this guitar was the 12" radius fretboard and the satin finish on the back of the neck. I found it very easy and enjoyable to play, like an Ibanez or something. The belly comfort cut was a nice feature too. The noiseless pickups are actually very effective at eliminating noise kind of like humbuckers but still manage to sound stratty. Definitely better than using regular single coils and a noise gate in my opinion. The tone and volume pots work well for dialling in the desired tone. The cons of this guitar I would say are attention to detail, like I said it felt a bit rough on the frets when bending, and it came with a little dent on the bottom horn which is something I believe that an American guitar would not come shipped with. They would put a bit more work into finishing it, but if you know how to adjust your guitars it's not a deal breaker. I also think that an American one sounds a bit more "genuine" but they are hard to get by these days and I'm not going to say that this one doesn't sound good. I don't think that I would bother swapping the pickups on this one. I found it sounds MUCH better on a tube amp for some reason it didn't pair as well on my Helix as well as my Gibsons did. Overall I recommend the guitar because it plays quite well and sounds good. It has so many nice features that it's worth having because it's so versatile. It's like having a telecaster and a Stratocaster 2-in-1. It's up to you to decide if you are good with this or if you'll keep saving for an American one (whenever you find one in stores again).

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
