I bought this for my young daughter, who was upgrading from a 1/4 size guitar. For about $125, it's great value for money. It does the job required of it, namely allowing a young person to develop playing skill. The quality is really decent overall, and yes, the tuners are not that smooth and they're kind of sticky, but you can still tune up OK. I can't think of a better $125 1/3 size guitar. If you break it, you won't feel too bad because the price isn't high, but you may feel bad if L & M doesn't have one in stock to replace it.

I just bought this 1/2 size guitar today for my young daughter, who's upgrading from a 1/4 size guitar. For the money, it's quite good value. It's actually playable, no less. The tone is bright and sharp, as it's not a super resonant cedar top, but a laminated spruce top. The finish is gloss, and it too is not bad at all. The tuners are the worst part, they are not smooth and silky, but rough and gruff. I put a drop of oil on each tuner and it's still rough and gruff, but at least it does the job of tuning. The included gig bag is all fabric, and no padding, so it covers the guitar but won't protect it. All in all, it's a nice intro guitat to the new performer. The sound won't wow you into wanting to play it, but it does the job. Oh yes, while the nut width is shorter than adult size (I think it's something like 48 mm - I forget now), the E to E distance at the bridge is very nice at about 56mm, so you get adult-guitar string spacing at the sound hole and therefore there's full room to pluck the string. This bridge string spacing is the best thing about the guitar. There were two cosmetic flaws in my sample, a rash line across the bottom area of the guitar (probably from shipping) and the fretboard near the nut was missing some finish paint (it looks shiny, not matte). In summary, you get a playable guitar with a nice return policy for an affordable price.

If you just need a cheap beginner or temporary classical guitar, its great. That said, you really do get what you pay for. The sound quality degrades very quickly. After 6 - 8 months, you may want to consider an upgrade or replacement. If you are just learning, or you need something quick and cheap to noodle around with temporarily, this guitar is an excellent choice.
