This new line from Behringer is truly lightweight, but powerful. The acoustics from any good quality source (with quality xlr cables) are clear, crisp and punchy at any volume. The auto high-pass filter is terrific, and you can always alter the bass response from the mixer or lower it at the rear of the speaker. If you need more feel-in-your-chest bass response at high volume levels, then really you should be hooked up with a subwoofer to back your front of house setup. Although the cabinets are high-grade plastic, and not birch, they don't rattle even at consistent high volume. From experience, keep the rear volume control slightly below the mid-level mark for optimum background and low-noise control. The bass control is a personal preference, but I've never found a reason to put it above the mid-level mark. The only reason I gave the quality and features an eight is because I would have appreciated a couple more inputs and maybe another different output, other than xlr only. There is a mic input, but this speaker is not considered to be a dedicated mic P.A., hence the absence of a microphone mixer on the rear. Two handles on the unit for balanced carrying, and a knob to secure the speaker stand when mounting (keeping it vertically straight) are a bonus. Make no mistake - these are loud, and the price point can't be beat. As with any plastic covering on any speaker, they are prone to being scratched or scuffed if moved regularly for P.A. applications. They also stack atop each other perfectly as mouldings were put there for this purpose. Since this is the first line in this series, we can only hope that Behringer expands the rear capabilities of this unit in future updated models. Also, it should be noted that Behringer uses 1500 watt D-class amplifiers in this line, but really you are probably getting more like between 750 to 1000 watts program with 1500 at peak levels. If you need bigger power, then you need bigger speakers, or multiple units. These are fantastic clear-sounding speakers with the best price in the industry. Rock on!
