I have the pearwood version of this recorder. It has a sweet tone, but it is very very quiet and sometimes a bit hoarse. Overall I much prefer my plastic Yamaha 312B. I think that any Aulos or Yamaha high end plastic recorder is superior to this recorder. I suspect that to get a good wooden recorder one has to spend a lot more and get a Moeck or a Mollenhauer. I would not buy it again.
