For bass drums, cajons, and e-drum kick pads, the Silent Beater cuts volume from the low end, making it a perfect pairing with Silent Sticks.
The Silent Beater comes with a thin and a thick additional pad not only for dampening, but also to reduce friction on the head - regular beaters usually destroy mesh heads easily. Thus our pads have a teflon coating to minimise the friction. This gives you three options when playing the kick - without pad, with the thin teflon pad, or with a thick teflon pad. This beater is a three-in-one!

...well, almost. The e-drum version is even quieter, but I play my kick buried and need a beater with some stiffness to it. I stumbled across these on Reverb and was stoked to find them at L&M too — and at a solid price, so cheers for that. What I love about this beater is that, unlike most low-volume options out there, it doesn't muffle your drum at all. It just brings the volume down, full stop. And honestly, that's pretty sick.
I use it all the time for recording — especially paired with the Silent Sticks (seriously, check those out too) and the Adoro Heritage heads. Trust me on that one.
The volume reduction comes down to the beater being lighter with a soft pad. You can double it up to get even quieter, or throw on the included Teflon pad, which protects your heads by cutting down on friction.
Would recommend it to anyone who needs a low volume solution.
