Unfortunately I had to return this bench because of the incredibly poor quality. The metal washers were totally rusted, the thin fiber board bottom had small cracks and one of the leg bolts was encased in a tough plastic shield. This could be removed but not easily done without possibly damaging the threads on the very soft metal used for the bolts. The finish was already quite noticeably marked up. I'm a regular L and M customer and will continue to be as there was no problem on the return and I always receive top notch service and competitive pricing. This particular product should be an embarrassment to the Yorkville name. If this is your price point, for $40 more, the Roland RBP-100BK quality is exponentially better.

This is a very nice bench for the price. It's very sturdy and comfortable. I like the lacquered legs and enough storage for music. Easy to put together - just awkward to turn the wrench. Overall great product

Despite other reviews here, this bench - my bench - is solid and defect free. I'm 240lbs and my weight hasn't compromised the bench. (Okay, I'm working on the weight issue.) After shopping around - Wayfair, Amazon, etc - this seemed to be the right one for me. It was about $100 and when I look around at other similar products, I got a $100 bench for $100.
Always surprises me when people say there are better ones for the same/less money. Then why didn't you buy those? This is a good $100 bench.

I bought an acoustic Yamaha B2 series piano, but I bought a floor model. My piano didn't come with the right bench (it looks like I got a bench made for a digital keyboard. Very small with no storage compartment). So I shopped around to find a black bench that would match my piano that would also have a storage compartment. I found everything I was looking for in this product. It's aesthetically pleasing. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually is, and it's quite comfortable to sit on. It does need to be assembled, however, the salesman in store was kind enough to do it for me. It took him less than ten minutes. The item is pretty sturdy. I would recommend not putting books that are too heavy inside the compartment. Although the quality is good, it's not the greatest, but then again, I paid well under $100 for this bench so I'm not expecting the same quality as a bench that goes for triple that. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to purchase an affordable, yet decent quality piano bench.

I bought this bench 5 days ago. It looked fine when I assembled it. Kept 6 x ~150-page piano scores (paperback) in there. My weight is in line with the national average. By today, one of the hinges for holding the lid when you open the storage has already come part, pushing a hole through the particle board, a corner of which has already been detached from the bench. It's too bad--it'd be a great bench otherwise.

For the price there are better made benches. It will do the trick, but the padding is a little thin and the bottom of the storage compartment is particle board so any weight or compression and it will give way. There are lots of $90 benches out there, most are better made.

I was looking for a replacement bench. For a time I used a foldout chair that was not at the correct height.. If you don't mind a metallic construction for the body and legs, this is an attractive offer. I also liked the stitching and design of the pleather seat - overall the look is quite classy. If you need a bench that does the job for practicing at the proper height, for any keyboard instrument, this is it. I assembled this in under 15 minutes. I'm glad to have ordered this online, at a good value and at a trusted Canadian vendor that ships fast!
