This guitar recreates the look and feel of a well-loved original. Finished in nitrocellulose lacquer - prized for its natural tonal qualities and distinct aging patterns, then hand-distressed for an authentically broken-in look, this Tele® delivers the bell-like tone and playing comfort you'd expect from a great vintage guitar. For modern Fender tone the pair of '50s single-coil Telecaster pickups were recreated, then kicked up a bit by increasing the output. Twangy and articulate, they have the power you need for any style of music. The thick, fat-shouldered '50s "U"-shaped neck has a 7.25"-radius maple fingerboard with 21 vintage-tall frets for classic playing feel. A vintage-style Tele® bridge with three brass barrel saddles gives this Telecaster it's characteristic twang, while vintage-style tuning machines provide original-era aesthetics, rock-solid performance and tuning stability. Other features include vintage-style strap buttons, chrome hardware and four-bolt neck plate. Includes deluxe gig bag.

Then this is a great choice. It ticks all the boxes despite being much cheaper than a Fender Custom Shop relic: 7 1/2 inch radius maple fingerboard. Nitro finish! Alder body. Kluson-style vintage tuners, single-ply five hole pickguard, etc. And believe me it sounds fantastic. Note: it's made in Mexico so finish quality may vary. Mine needed work to level and clean up the frets, which I did myself. Other than that it would've been 5 stars all the way.

Always hated the look.. but then I played one and now I think I've been missing out for over 20 years. Always been an sg guy, but this guitar was so easy to play. I haven't connected with a guitar like this in a very long time. It almost plays itself. While at the Chinook location in Calgary, inwaa originally looking at a dark knight fender. But I thought I'd try out a handful of teles. Glad I did. I high recommend this one, even over the pro series 2. This sounds more authentic to my ears.

Went in the L & M store in Moncton to kill some time while the wife was shopping at another store, and started toying around with a few guitars they had there. I then tried the L & M Exclusive Tele, and the way it felt, they way it played, I had never had that feeling with any other guitar that I own or played. It has to be held and played to know what it's all about. I had to have it, and for the next 3 days after I left the store, all I could think about was that guitar. I ended up getting a used one/ demo shipped from on of the Edmonton Long & McQuade as it was at a lower price. It's a workhorse, and I love the little bit of rust on the bridge and saddles. There were a few tiny issues with it (just like every guitars out there) which they fixed and now, it's the ultimate guitar. Best part, because it's road worn, I'm no longer sure which scratches, bumps and dings that came with the guitar, and which were made by me unintentionally. I would buy this guitar a thousand time. Well worth the money and more.

I swear I just went into the Charlottetown L&M to look!! Played this up against some pricier teles and fell in love with the neck. The neck pup is great and the bridge is really good too. I have a few guitars and have been playing for a lot of years and this guitar is a keeper.

I bought one at the Oshawa store it played great out of the box but it had some choke out at fret 10. I took it to the belleville store for a setup and the guy set it up like a shred guitar and made it significantly worse. They set me up with the kingston stores repair guy and he set it up in front of me. It took a lot of fretwork to get it playing perfectly about 2.5 hours it took. All this was done at 0 cost to me. The pickups sound amazing! This is the first guitar I have ever bought that isn't going to get them swapped they're just perfect. Especially the neck pickup its great! You can't beat this tele specification wise. But play them over well. Pay close attention to the fretwork.

I have wanted this guitar for a long time, primarily because its looking and the tone. It sounds great, and it has the feeling of an old guitar. But the upsides stop there. The guitar came with several little problems out of the box. One of the tuners was broken and had to be replaced (which the store promptly did), the switch tip was also broken (I have to buy a spare part somewhere else), the pickguard was misplaced and bent, to the point it was almost touching the strings (I had to close the factory hole, repositioned it, and create a new one to fix the problem). The fretwork was one of the worst I have ever seen. Extremely sharp edges, sticking out of the neck. I had to sand it, round the edges, and polish them. I get it's a vintage-like guitar and supposed to look old. But I was not expecting to get something actually broken. I was expecting to get something that is comfortable to play out of the box, which was clearly not the case. I consider myself to be a handyman, and having to do all of that was not a big deal for me. However, this is not for everyone and this is why I want to leave this feedback. After all this work, it plays great, and it's comfortable. Just the way I was expecting it to be. However, this is a very clear message to me that these Mexican Fenders don't worth the money. They are expensive and have poor quality control.

I didn't go into the store planning on buying this telecaster. I saw it on the wall - played it. And I couldn't put it down. It played so well - no sharp or gritty frets, lower fret height which I loved. Loved the neck shape and the satin finish on it. It felt like a much higher end guitar when I played it. Was pretty resonant unplugged - found myself not wanting to put it down, Then I plugged it into an amp, and I was sold. Or I should say, this guitar was sold. I couldn't say no! Great sounding pick ups - wasn't expecting that for a made in Mexico guitar. Been playing this thing non stop since I brought it home. I think I'm in love.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
