This QUICKLY became my favourite cymbal. The holes mean more white noise, so it's a little trashier than a normal crash, and sounds almost like you hit 2 quieter crashes at once. Hard to describe, but for me, it replaces any need for a China; it's similar but more tasteful.
Randy from Sabian described it to me like this: if you imagine throwing a rock in a pond, and the ripples hit sticks (the holes)... the ripple would split into smaller ripples on either side of each stick. The ripple is the sound wave, so you end up with more, smaller waves, hence higher pitch and more white noise / sounds almost like more than one cymbal.
