X-Limit

X-Limit is a versatile audio limiting tool that allows artists, producers, and engineers to increase the loudness of tracks and busses quickly and effectively, without clipping or changing tonal balance. X-Limit can easily control peaks and tame unwanted transients, creating full and dynamic recordings - perfect for crafting loud mixes with subtlety and emotion.

Featuring 4 characteristics ranging from extremely transparent to colour and glue, variable release times with renowned "Auto" release, and True Peak + Lookahead algorithm for precision processing. X-Limit can be used as an invisible loudness enhancer or as a colourful limiter to add character and vibe. Its intelligent algorithms introduce minimal latency regardless of settings, making it suitable for tracking and live performance applications.

The unique steering and ducking meters indicate how the limiting process might influence the stereo image of your signal, and to provide feedback on minimising stereo degradation using the channel link control. The all-in-one waveform and threshold display lets you easily set your threshold and ceiling against the incoming signal level.

X-Gate

SSL X-Gate is a comprehensive mixing tool inspired by classic analogue gate hardware and workflow from SSL's Live and Broadcast consoles, as well as introducing new creative capabilities and an intuitive left-to-right co-ordinated visualisation.

Featuring a rolling waveform graph, mid/side processing options and tweakable hysteresis using independent open & closed thresholds, X-Gate builds upon the company's renowned knowledge of hardware gates, all delivered through SSL's advanced workflow interface. The new plug-in is suitable for music and content creators alike and delivers a unique range of features for extended sound sculpting - An invaluable tool for sound design, audio restoration and of course, mixing.

In addition to M1 processor compatibility, X-Gate also introduces variable lookahead times and zero additional plug-in latency at the lowest setting, making it a perfect tool for tracking situations where mic bleed can distract from the primary source material. Meantime, its EXP and DUCK modes allow either transparent gating or ducking options; ducking is typically used for attenuating a signal when it exceeds a certain threshold, and this can be used in conjunction with a DAW's sidechain function for intelligent ducking.
