Question: Is the send and return the same as left right stereo for a mixer insert AUX 1...Can this cable be used for a Tascam Model 12 insert for the AUX 1 option

Answer: No, the AUX is balanced, not stereo. You want to use a TRS cable with the Aux out and if you want to return the AUX use a channel.
