A Tighter, Meaner Recto

It's time to unleash a new member of the Rectifier Family; the Rectifier® Badlander™ 100. Tighter, meaner, more aggressive, it's a Recto tuned for the times and up for the task of raising the bar once again in Rock tone. Experienced players know there's nothing like the gut punch, girth and headroom of a 100-Watt head, and at the top of the Badlander Family stands the Badlander 100 ready to underscore that perception again.

Two identical Channels feature 3 new super dynamic and duplicated Modes. CLEAN, CRUNCH and CRUSH repeated supply all the gain, shaping power and raw personality you'll need to navigate any Band or Session environment. The easy to pilot 2-Channel preamp is harnessed with three different and perfect power displacements, each delivering addictive EL34 performance.

100, 50, or 20 Watts at the Switch

The Badlander 100 features the patented Multi-Watt™ Power Switch that offers three wattage settings; A FULL power of 100 watts running the full quartet of EL34s, a HALF power setting cranking 50 Watts that puts two ELs to their best use, and a reconfigured Triode wired option producing 20 Watts of clip-able sweetness that also runs a pair of output tubes. Each has its own set of benefits and character and together they provide almost limitless possibilities when you consider the pairings with the available preamp Modes, their gain structures and dial-able sounds.

Compared to its 50-Watt sibling, the 100s lower Mids are fatter, fuller sounding and a bit more prominent in the mix, filling in all the cracks to create a balanced, wide, wall of expressive goodness, regardless of where the Mode Switch or GAIN controls are set. You feel the sound in your chest and in your bones and that helps you play with a sense of connectedness and assuredness. It supports you with a feeling of inspiring confidence that allows you to play your best anywhere, anytime.

The Badlander 100 is the recordists dream realized. It features the first onboard CabClone™ IR and it delivers seamless DI with Channel Specific IR Assignment of the 8 virtual Cabinets and a Reactive Load that sounds and feels great. Together with the new sounds, the most versatile and recordable Recto ever is created, even when used in "silent mode" when you can't use your favorite cabinet!

The CabClone IR delivers newfound flexibility, portability and previously only dreamed of convenience. You now have the ability to go direct silently or with your cab, for recording, stage or headphone practicing with instant access to 8 real MESA cabinets mic'd in a Pro Environment and library storage for more. It really doesn't get any better in terms of having consistent tone from venue to venue, with or without a speaker cabinet, your choice.

The built-in, channel assignable CabClone IR Virtual Cabinet Simulator & Reactive Amp Load comes preloaded with the following 8 Authentic MESA Virtual Cabinet IRs including:

- 4x12 Rectifier Standard (closed back)
- 4x12 Rectifier Traditional (closed back)

- 1x12 Thiele (closed back, front ported)
- 2x12 Lone Star (open back)

Designed as an open system, The CabCLone IR is compatible with select Third-Party IRs and a simple USB connection allows open access to download, store and use your favorite IRs of choice with capacity for extra library storage. USB 2.0 A to B connection cable (not included) is required for managing IR file directory.

If you're into big, menacing Tone, Mesa invites you to check out what 51 years designing and building high performance Tube Amps can serve up. From a distinct new Recto Clean, to Crunch and powering on to the realm of Modern Era Heavy, experience the Badlander 100 and the latest evolution of Recto tone. It's a Rectifier at its core, but not the Recto you've come to know.

Tonally, the Badlander 100 delivers stunning clean headroom, tight-tracking Gain sounds that have girth, depth and punch in a wide, 3-D footprint. All 3 of its Modes deliver serious big bore Tone with instant authority through this dynamic power section that leaves you with reserves enough to handle any crowd. Yet big power has never been just about volume, it's about Tone, feel and vibe as well. The Badlander 100's power section delivers truckloads of volume if and when you need it, but it's the balance, touch sensitivity and dynamic control of this mighty engine that makes the Badlander 100 stand out.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
