I had a Fender American Special Stratocaster, this Squier Classic Vibe 50's feels a lot better. Sold Fender American Special, kept the Squier Classic Vibe 50's. No regrets. Love it.

Well it's been a few years('12) since I posted a review but I'm still playing it, still great. Friends, family and band mates all tried and liked it, one even went out and bought one. It may need a re-fret down the road but it's worth it. Still love it. It's part of my collection of axes. Thanks Fender for making Squier. Really can't go wrong with buying one. One downside is the price jumped considerably since I got mine.

I have one of these in sea foam green. It is wonderful and plays/sounds better than my MIM strat. Great value for a fine little axe.

Had got this as a gift back christmas 2012 and it is the best axe I've owned so far in life (I've never owned a Gibson or Fender yet). If you want versatility for a good price look no further. Can replicate the warm sound of a humbucker if you roll back the tone and eq your amp right, can do anything from SRV to Zeppelin and most other band in between. This guitar will be a main stay with me and nothing will ever make me sell it. Even when I own Gibson in the future this guitar will always be in my heart.

I just picked one of these up. Actually i got rid of my 1500 dollar fender for one of these because it made the fender look and sound foolish. These guitars are nothing short of amazing. I tried mine next to several american strats including a deluxe, a custom shop, a standard and they all didnt compare. And i am a DIE HARD FENDER STRAT GUY. Fender has really crapped the bed with quality lately. Time to get some lessons from the guys in china on how to build a nice guitar again.

What a fantastic playing guitar and the see through body finish and gold hardware are exceptional. The grain on the maple neck is also exceptional. I traded my MIM strat in on the Squier.

Been playing for 30 plus years and own several guitars including USA Fender. This guitar is simply fantastic value. The factory set up was perfect and other than change the strings this guitar was ready to go. Definitely would recommend over a MIM for the price.

This is an exceptional guitar, (do not be discouraged by the Squier headstock), which I purchased from L&M in Jan 2014. I have been playing for 30 plus years and chose this over the MIM Strat. I own several guitars, including a Fender USA and this one is now my favourite. The set up was perfect out of the box which was a surprise. I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar to a beginner or semi-pro.

These strats hold their own with anything Fender has made in the last 30 years. Frets are perfect, as is finish & electronics. Plays and sounds great. These have to be cutting into Fenders main line sales.

I went into a Long & Mcquade looking to pick up the MIM Strat, but thought I'd give this Squier a chance before I made a purchase. What a relief I did ! This guitar is nothing short of excellent, the pickups are beautiful, rich and warm sounding, and the quality and craftmanship is quite nice as well. I couldn't justify spending more for the MIM when it really seemed like a lower quality guitar. This guitar is not only good for the price, but it is a great guitar in general ! Great Purchase

Buy it and you won't regret it. The quality quite surprised me. This comes from someone who has played for 40+ years and is/was a die hard Fender strat guy. Still own some but not for long. Will definitly pick up a few more of these for half of what I can sell one of my Fender strats for.

Fit and finish is top notch. Super straight neck and it sounds fantastic. I don't know how a strat can get any better then this. If you don't mind not having fender in big letters on the headstock you can't go wrong.

Everything about these guitars is outstanding ! The workmanship is as good as any MIM i tried. I spent a month looking, kept going back to the CV. Cannot be beat for the money. Great playability, great sounds/tones ! Had mine 3 months now and love it, seem to play it more than any of my other guitars. ( includes an Amer. Standard and Tele, and a Road Worn ) Best value by far IMHO

I had a Strat a few years ago and sold it for another guitar. I went to L&M to try some new Strats for fun. I tried Squiers/American/Mexican/ etc, I just kept drifting back to this one, regardless of price. Fantastic fretwork and neck, beautiful finish, sweet, singing tones, has it all. The 60's model has more stinging pickups if you want that Texas tone, these pups are more mellow and classic. Give one a try, you might be surprised, I know I was when I went home with one. Hope this helps, I love mine.

Bought this as a travel guitar so as not to risk my Tele or PRS. I have to say I am in love with it, sounds and plays great. I have played a lot of expensive guitars and this is every bit as good. No hesitation to gig with it. Awesome value for the money.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
