Description
The MPX-T680 has a new round top with spinning height adjust base. The T680 round top looks similar to the classic round top but it has been upgraded to a softer, more comfortable cushion and the top is now cloth. The T680 saddle tops have also been totally redesigned with comfort and ergonomics in mind. The shape of the saddle has changed and is now a bit wider. Also (and this is cool), the top tilts backward by two degrees. This tiny amount of tilt is designed to help improve the player's posture, stability, and prevents the feeling of sliding forward.
Mapex upgraded their throne bases, and now the 600 series also have these new upgraded tops as well. These new tops are softer, more comfortable, and more ergonomic. Mapex continues its tradition of providing drummers with professional grade gear at a better price option than all other competitors.

Question: How squishy is the seat? Is it hard or very light and squishy?

Answer: There is no gauge for squishyness, but this seat is soft with a lot of give.
It is not hard, or firm. It is comfortable.

Answer: It is pretty sturdy and very little wiggle. For a mid-range priced throne its pretty good and decently priced.

As a new drummer I didn't want something too expensive but that I can sit on comfortably, this one is amazing. Its sturdy, easy to adjust and stay adjusted. It turns and does tilt a little which is neat! I'm 6feet tall and can still raise it a lot if needed. My L&M local store salesman gave me this option and he was bang on for my needs. I think even experienced drummer would like it.
