Question: So what makes this an "Antiquity" JB? Is the magnet age? Because cosmetically, I have one, and it looks brand new and shiny.

Answer: It's a "Vintage Style" pick up, the magnets are weakened, it's scatter wound by hand and it's wax potted. It also uses vintage style cable to connect.

The hand wound master recognized MJs are the feature. I had these sweet af pickups put into an old Washburn with its factory HB30s. They made this Semi-Hollow, Scream into God Mode. These pickups take any guitar (that fits the specifications) to 11.

I've always been a huge fan of the plain old JB. It's focused, it's cutting, and it sits in a mix just right. I got this thinking, "well, it's Custom Shop, so it must be good". I wasn't disappointed. They definitely throw a little extra mojo in there. This pickup sounds like a JB, just with a little extra magic. It's smoother, it's even more focused, and it's chunky! It's not cheap, but it's totally worth the extra hundred bucks or so over a regular JB.
