Beautiful flute, although it differs quite a bit from what's shown on the website (same colour and grain, but some subtle shape differences). The section below the tuning slide isn't bulbous/rounded like the one pictured (it pretty much blends in), and the top isn't a rounded piece of wood, but almost like a step-pyramid made of plastic (barely noticeable) which also serves as some kind of tiny storage space for... I don't know. Was disappointed with the sound/volume at first, but it really just needs to warm up and the sound becomes what I hoping for. Was surprised with the last hole (low D) being close enough that I don't need to use my pinky, but instead can comfortably use my ring finger. Second octave sounds great, but I'm not good enough of a player to judge the third... but it definitely gets there.
Couple things that would've been appreciated was better instructions for oiling, such as what kind of oil (this is important, do your research specific to cocuswood), how often, break-in period, etc. Seeing as how cork grease is so cheap, they might as well have included it, but you can just order it on this website at the same time and they'll arrive together. Perhaps even a pull-through bore cleaner/rag like some flutes come with. I mean, it came with a complimentary toque, so why not cork grease and a bore cleaner?? I'm Canadian, I have lots of toques already, although it is a nice one.
Other than that, it comes with a nice wooden box where all the parts fit in well. Nothing is going to bounce around inside of it.
Ordered it online and it arrived from across the country in a week. Overall, no regrets and am pleased with it and the service. Big upgrade from the bamboo equivalent!
