What Every Singer Wants
Keep your vocals clean with a tight reverb or simple harmony or go all out with tasty delays, thick doubles, edgy hardtuning, cool modulations, and raw distortions the choice is yours. Best of all, weve improved the portamento and humanization of our renowned harmony effects, making your tireless two-singer backing group more realistic than ever. And dont worry about setting the key. Play Acoustic follows your guitar chords automatically for harmonies that stay in tune and in time.

What Every Singer Needs
Equipped with our trademark Adaptive Tone, Play Acoustic acts as your personal sound engineer providing the one feature no singer should be without: automatic intelligent control of Compression, EQ, De-essing, and Gating, giving your voice the impact and presence to always stand out in the mix.

Acoustic Alchemy
Your acoustic guitar is both a powerful and delicate instrument, and weve made sure that Play Acoustic treats it with the respect it deserves. Tailor-made guitar FX from our sister company TC Electronic add a sweet touch of magic with essential styles from their bestselling TonePrint pedals Hall of Fame Reverb and Corona Chorus while the direct Guitar DI output ensures signal fidelity all the way from pedal to PA.

Body Resonance
The sound of resonating wood is what gives an acoustic guitar its particular sonic allure, and this is where BodyRez comes in. New and unique to Play Acoustic, the BodyRez algorithm restores acoustic tone to guitars fitted with undersaddle pickups. Carefully placed filters and fast acting compression combine to reduce piezo-quack, making your amplified guitar sound like the beautiful full-bodied instrument it is. Dial in as much or as little BodyRez as you need and use the handy EQ controls to fine-tune the dynamics of your sound.

Intuitive Controls and Dedicated I/O
Operating and navigating Play Acoustic is as straightforward as it gets. Use the Up/Down footswitches or central knob to easily browse factory presets, or use the GENRE button to find styles that you like. Dedicated VOCAL FX and GUITAR FX buttons let you access effects directly, and the intuitive user interface makes editing simple and fast. Create your own library of presets with the FAVORITE feature for easy setlist recall.
Separate mono XLR outputs for vocals and guitar makes it painless for any sound engineer to mix the levels perfectly for your audience, or you can set the output to Stereo and create your own custom panoramic stereo mix.

Make It a HIT
HIT is a performance-inspired feature for building intensity into any vocal performance. Press the HIT button to turn on multiple effects at once and create quick A/B scenes for each preset. Use it to add dazzling vocal effects for the chorus, or strip it down for the verse its your call.

Loop Around
The VLOOP performance looper allows you to create complete guitar and vocal loops for solo jamming or impressive layered live performances. VLOOP is also handy for soundcheck; record a short phrase and walk out into the audience to check levels while your virtual you plays!

In-Ear Monitoring
Use the embedded RoomSense mics to pick up the sounds from the room, the stage, or the instruments around you and add ambience to your headphone mix when performing or practicing. Optionally, our handy Guitar & Headphone Cable facilitates inexpensive in-ear monitoring with a convenient twist: two signals, one cable.

Sing Along with Vocal Cancel
Singing along is a great way to practice and perform. Plug in your MP3 player via the AUX In connector and use the Vocal Cancel feature to make your voice stand out over the vocals on the original track. You can also record and play back your singing using the USB connection to your computer and DAW.

I used to own the Harmony G-XT, so this was an upgrade.Take time to read the manual and it's amazing what you can program. It comes with a few hundred pre-sets and I easily downloaded more from the website. The unit allows you to set up favorites and just access the pre-sets you use most often. Setting up your own pre-sets and altering existing pre-sets to create your own is simple and easy once you've read the manual I bought this used from Long and McQuade for about $165 and it hasn't quit on me in over 3 years and that's doing 200+ shows/year. It's built like a tank. I'm a solo performer with vocals and guitar, but have also used this for just singing and no guitar and it works great. The trick with these harmonizers is to not overdo it. I only use it for certain chorus's, or to create a specific song effect and it adds sparkle to my performance.

Annoyances first, then I'll get to the good stuff. There's no obvious power switch. You have to yank the power cord. Wahh? It's also kind of just ugly. Although built like a tank. The user interface is easy if you just want to flick through a lot of presets, but what if you want to flip from preset 1 to preset 50... that's not obvious. The gain was set to full when I first plugged it in.. and the gain is hidden on the side... so watch it... I nearly blew my head off. There's no click on - click off effect. The manual that comes with it is literally a comic book printed in comic font. It's next to useless. The downloadable manual is lacking in detail. THEN You have to program and toggle through presets. Also.. they talk about "Hit"... well... without "Hit" everything sounds the same... so why bother... it's basically... three stettings on the "hit" button... bypass(talk), a touch of reverb and EQ, and then the grand effect. OK.. that's dumb, but once you figure out presets, you can work around that and essentially setup a series of banks and keep "Hit" turned on. Programing is not intuitive, but once you do get past the "how to" it's easy enough. So... swap, swap... change some defaults.. setup my banks and HOLY GREATNESS.... first off.. they call this acoustic... I'm not sure why they limit themselves.. there are built in mics that tune harmony to the loudest thing nearby. That's me!!! I'm playing Pink Floyd's TIme and using harmony for the chorus.. it's a thing of beauty. I do a few electric tunes with no effects.. clean channel... it's perfect without the the guitar pass through. The ambient mics pic up my key and background make me swoon. I go back to Floyd and Comfortably Numb to toss in harmony on the chorus... I'm freaking David Gilmour with backup singers. I haven't hooked up an acoustic to try the guitar effects... I'm not sure I ever will as I have so many others and I don't want to bother with the XLR out... To give some context.. I'm a one man band right now.. doing Floyd, Hendrix, Zep, Tom P, and other 3-6 chord classics... I record everything I try to make sure I heard what I think I heard... and this thing definitely improves the show... So... why 4 star and not 5? It should come with a detailed manual... that's it... This will be an integral part of my show for sure!!
