This is my first Tama cymbal stand plus my first aluminum and/or lightweight cymbal stand. Very well made and comparable cymbal support and stability when tested against a Pearl double braced 1 1/8" bottom tube steel boom cymbal stand. It even greatly supports a 10" tom being attached to it. The Spartan stand is just over a third of the weight of the Pearl steel stand. (4.4 lbs compared to 11.4 lbs). I just ordered two more Spartan stands, so my drum hardware case will be much lighter now.
