Description

This Revstar Standard features P90-style, single-coil pickups with 5-way switching and the Focus Switch boost, with a custom racing tailpiece.

A NEW GENERATION
The original Revstar guitars launched in 2015-Yamaha's first new electric guitar series in more than a decade. A completely refreshed lineup was introduced in 2022.

MUSIC AND MOTORS
The Revstar style is inspired by cafe racer motorcycles-stripped-down performance machines that were customized to reflect the personality of their riders.

MODERN. CLASSIC.
Revstar balances Japanese innovation and traditional artisanship. Modern features enhance playability, versatility, and tone, while the design references classic Yamaha electric guitars going back to 1966.

HANKO MARK
Used in place of a signature in Japan, the hanko stamp on every Revstar guitar is Yamaha's seal of approval. Element and Standard models feature the "Revstar" hanko, while the stamp on Professional models signifies "Made in Japan."

REVSTAR STANDARD
With two available pickup configurations, 5-way switching, and the Focus Switch passive boost, the new Revstar Standard is all about versatility.

CHAMBERED BODY WITH ACOUSTIC DESIGN
Revstar Standard guitars feature chambered bodies designed to sculpt tone and reduce weight with carbon reinforcement in the neck to improve vibration transfer.

5-WAY SWITCHING
With the same 5-way switching as Revstar Professional, the subtle phase shift on positions 2 and 4 offer a fresh take on classic "in-between" sounds.

FOCUS SWITCH
The push/pull Tone control activates a passive boost with an effect similar to overwound pickups-darker highs, increased mids and lows, and an aggressive character.

Features

• Cafe Racer-inspired finishes
• Chambered maple and mahogany body
• Carbon-reinforced 3-piece mahogany neck
• 2 P90-style pickups
• 5-Position pickup selector
• Passive Focus Switch
• Deluxe gig bag included

Bought one of these last week. I am blown away by everything, QC was excellent, sounds fantastic, looks cool and the playability is amazing. If you are looking for something a little different, or want to get away from US companies, I very much recommend you giving one a look. Paul

It has distinctive sound, beautiful design, seemingly high-quality parts, and a good set-up out of the box. However, there are some quality (mostly cosmetic) issues: some rough edges throughout the body that irritates my arm when playing, a blemish on the wood grain seemingly from the manufacturing process, the Yamaha badge (which looks cool by the way) on the headstock slightly misaligned, etc. Overall, its is a nice unique guitar that I expect to play for a long time.

I've had my eye on this for about six months and finally pulled the trigger a couple weeks ago. First impressions: - Build quality is indeed superb. My other two guitars (Mexican Strat and Epiphone Les Paul) are in the same price range, but both feel markedly inferior to this one. Solid, well finished, and ergonomically just about perfect. - The Yamaha pickups are exceptional for stock pickups. I haven't ruled out upgrading to Sunbear or Lollar P90s down the road, but for now I've got little incentive. These things are fantastic: nice and fat like you'd expect from P90s, but with that lovely single-coil definition and treble. But never screechy. - The neck is quite thin. Having fairly small hands, I like it; others might find it off-putting. A preference thing. - The color (Swift Blue) and finish are awesome. It's a handsome guitar and adds a splash of color to my sunbursts. - The frets are quite nice, but (preference again) they're a bit jumbo for my taste. Hardly the biggest frets I've seen, but I like a lower fret profile. But the fretwork is quite good and smooth. - People like to complain about the focus switch being kind of useless, and I can see that, but with a lot of overdrive, it sounds really good. - Only real complaint on performance or quality so far is the screws on the pickups (to attach, lower, and raise). I like to play around with pickup height till I get my ideal sound. These screws are quite soft and I worry they'll be stripped (why are Phillips heads still a thing?). I think I've got them set to the height I'm looking for, but I worry about moving them any more. Anyway, it's still early days, but I'm quite pleased with this guitar. I'd been looking at a guitar with P90s for some time, and I don't think I could have done better for anything close to this price.

This guitar is awesome and worth way more than $1000.00. Everyone should have at least one guitar with P90's. I recommend this one.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
