Carl Reinecke (1824-1910) was a German composer, conductor, pianist, and influential teacher who held prominent positions throughout the 19th century, including director of the Leipzig Conservatory and conductor of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. A champion of Classical and early Romantic ideals, Reinecke was closely associated with figures like Mendelssohn, Schumann, and later Brahms.
