I bought 4 of these. Same complaint, hardware was useless and not reliable that I wouldn't find a guitar laying on the floor in pieces. So I used metal drywall butterfly anchors. That way I could place the hanger where ever I needed it. I drilled an extra hole (countersunk) through the bottom of the wooden mount, removed the metal circular hanger plate on the back and put the butterfly anchor bolts through. Now I feel safe hanging guitars without a catastrophic result. I do like the design otherwise.

I have 10 of these. The first eight are fine. The newest 2 that I have leave black marks where the foam makes contact with the headstock.

J'ai 3 guitares et une bass attaché avec ses crochets.
J'ai utilisé une vise de 3" de long pour chaque crochet, que j'ai centré à l'aide d'un détecteur à 2x4 et visé dans le mure. Super solide.
J'ai dû acheter les vises à la quincaillerie.
Sans les vises de 3" ses crochets sont inutiles.

Like other reviews, the hardware that comes with this hanger is not the greatest. I bought two thinking that they had screw-in anchors and long-enough screws, but the anchors were not easily put into the drywall and the screws were not long enough. I used my own longer screw and bought a stud finder and put it into the stud. Solid now! And happy with this purchase!

Installed this properly, hung my usa strat... Was mint condition, now has several dings from being pulling it out of the wall.
COMPLETE GARBAGE.
Would never recommend this to anyone with a guitar they treat well.

same as the other two reviews, the hardware is a bit of a joke to say the least. I have a Les Paul Custom that I wanted to hang on one of these when taking a break and there was just no way I could have done that using the hardware they supplied. Longer screws and right into a stud, rock solid now.

As prev mentioned inc. hardware was useless. Used my own. Hung an electric and after the hardware switch it was fine.

Bought two of these to hang a strat and hollow-body ES-335. Straight out of the box I noticed the included hardware was useless. The screws were just barely long enough to go through the drywall and into the stud so I had to supply my own to ensure my guitars did not end up on the floor in pieces. Other than the hardware issue they do the job well and hang well out ensuring the guitars are not rubbing against the wall. For the price (plus two longer screws) they display your guitars just fine. They do come with drywall anchors but I would recommend screwing directly into the stud especially if your hanging a heavier guitar.
