Stringed Instrument Performance Assurance Checklist
Unlike our free set-up, which is included within the first year of purchase, this process is done to have the instrument set to the factory specs rather than to each player's feel or preferences.
We look after the following:
- Inspect finish and hardware.
- Check electronics to make sure everything is in working order. Check batteries on active pickups.
- Inspect strings.
- Inspect frets and fretboard.
- Check truss rod. Adjust for bow and relief.
- Tune instrument to manufacturer's specified tuning.
- Check/set action height.
- Stretch strings and re-tune instrument and ensure machine heads are working well.
- Check for fret buzz by playing every note.
- Check/set intonation.
- Check/set pickup height.
- Cleaning and professional repacking.
Description
Appointments balance the workmanlike appeal of a Dreadnought with subtle detailing that showcases Taylor's craftsmanship. The torrefied spruce top adds a golden-brown visual warmth, accented by a rosette of Honduran rosewood and paua shell framed with ivoroid and black purfling. Grained ivoroid body binding is complemented by Honduran rosewood, ivoroid and black top trim, plus an ivoroid-bound soundhole. Other touches include Continental mother-of-pearl inlays, a dual-layered ivoroid/faux-tortoise pickguard featuring a cutout Continental motif, and Gotoh antique chrome tuners with ebony buttons. Onboard LR Baggs Element VTC electronics with discreet soundhole-mounted tone controls and a Taylor deluxe hardshell case round out the package.
