This lovely, lyrical piece, set in 4/4 time and the key of G minor throughout, offers the opportunity to play expressively and convey a feeling of reflection on times gone by. With shared melodic lines, the techniques reinforced include 2-note slurs, hooked bowings, accents, pizzicato, divisi, terraced dynamics (M.19M.23), and bow distribution (e.g., up bow retake after long down bow, M.71).
