Appetite for Rock
Slash himself helped design the Slash AFD Les Paul Special-II with an Appetite Amber finish, inspired by Slashs own custom Les Paul. The AAA flame Maple Veneer top has single layer Ivory binding and the back, sides, and neck are finished in beautiful darl Cherry just like Slashs original. Both the body and neck are made from Mahogany, like all classic Les Pauls. The bolt-on neck has a Rosewood fingerboard with dot acrylic inlays and the headstock features Slashs Snakepit logo in gold silk print along with the iconic Epiphone signature logo in silver. The truss rod cover has the familiar bell shape with Les Paul Special-II in white. The die-cast machine heads (tuners) have a 14:1 ratio for quick and easy spot-on tuning.

Classic Zebra Coil Pickups
The roar of Slashs AFD Les Paul Special II comes from Epiphones new Ceramic Plus Zebra Coil humbucker pickups modeled after the famous (and ultra rare) zebra (black and white) pickups found on late 50s Les Paul Standards, the most sought after vintage guitar on the market. The humbuckers are powered by Volume, Tone, and Toggle controls with Gold TopHat knobs with metal inserts. But unlike vintage models, the Slash AFD Les Paul also comes with a built-in Shadow E-Tuner built into the bridge pickup mounting ring. The tuner is powered by one #2032 Lithium long-lasting battery, easily accessed from a compartment on the back of the guitar.

Premium Epiphone hardware
The Slash AFD Les Paul Special II features Epiphones premium all-metal hardware including a legendary Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece and strap buttons.

Slash Snakepit-15 Amp
Ask any pro guitarist whats the best sounding amp to use in the studio and the answer will be a small low-watt amp for its focused, razor sharp tone. Slashs custom designed Snakepit-15 15 watt amp features an 8 Electar G8 Classic-25 4-ohm speaker in an open-back cabinet that delivers terrific midrange crunch as well as clean chimey tones thanks to its two uniquely voiced Channels. Both Channel 1 (Volume and Overdrive) and Channel 2 (Clean) are easily accessible via the Channel Selector Button. The Snakepit-15 also comes with a full EQ section featuring controls for Treble, Middle, and Bass, an auxillery input, and a headphone output jack.

Accessories
The Slash AFD Performance Pack also includes a premium gigbag with Slashs Snakepit logo in white, 3 Dunlop TortexTM Slash signature picks in three colors (white, black and purple), guitar strap, an Epiphone standard guitar cable, and for new players, free online lessons from eMedia.

Frets need sanding down. Slight buzz on E & A from 1-4 frets but only with heavy strumming. Moderate strumming is ok. Toggle switch was acting up but overall it plays great. This is my first electric and I don?t regret buying it.

Hand made in china, from looking it over I think the person only used one hand. after the store did a set-up there was still fret buzz on strings E-A- 1ST fret to the 4th-thinking about returning it.

Although this is considered an entry level guitar, all I can say is Wow! I love this thing! This is my first new guitar in 20 years. I've only had it two days and I keep sneaking downstairs to play it. The finish on this thing is awesome for the price and then you add in the fact it came with a pretty sweet amp, a bag and accessories you can't go wrong. If you missed out on or couldn't afford the Gibson or Epiphone signature releases, this is an awesome way to still get an AFD guitar and not break the bank. But honestly anyone who bought one of those overpaid, in my opinion, because I'm just as happy with this one! The amp is like getting a bonus Christmas present too. Half the reason I haven't really played for such a long time is my rig is a Marshall AVT50H with an 8412 cabinet. I also have a rack mount 150watt amp to drive the cab for gigs. It's too loud to play in the house, too big and cumbersome to take somewhere else. With this amp being small and only being 15watts, you can take it anywhere, crank up the dials for the desired tone but keep your family and neighbours happy with you. Anyway, I'm very happy with this purchase!

This thing looks amazing!! I love it. Comes with a lot of stuff, everything a beginner will need to get started. If you're looking to get started in electric guitar you cant beat this package.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty.

Warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?

Performance Guarantee - normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage.

Product Replacement - if your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.

No Lemon Policy - your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.

Convenient - easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.

Guitar Setup - Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.

Loaners Available - a loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.

Power Surge Protection - your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.

Accessory Coverage - any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.

Commercial Use Coverage - music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty.Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, woodwind pads, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Accidental or cosmetic damage is not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

NEW products: 4% of selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

USED products: 4% of selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year. Pricing for used electronic products is 4% of the original new selling price.

GUITARS: 4% of selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.

BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: $40 up to $2,000 selling price. BRASS and STRINGS: 2% of the selling price after $2,000. WOODWINDS: 4% of the selling price after $2,000.

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
