Description
The FG-116 Blue Series offers a wide variety of analog-modeled dynamic processing flavours in the form of two Virtual Mix Rack modules.
- Circuit 1: Has the classic mid-forward character of a vintage "blue-stripe" 1176. Adds warm presence to vocals, bass, drums, and guitars with softer highs/lows and articulate transients.
- Circuit 2: Based on a refurbished Rev A unit. Offers bigger low end and smoother mid/highs. Perfect for drum rooms and vocals needing size without mid push.
- Both circuits include a Hi-Pass Detection Filter to prevent low-end triggering - great for drum busses.
- Includes a Mix knob for easy onboard parallel compression.
NOTES:
The magic lies in the release time! Most mixers keep it fully clockwise (fastest) for an aggressive and exciting tone.
The attack is fast even at its slowest. Fully clockwise (fastest) will completely squash transients.
Recommended starting point: slowest attack, fastest release. Overcompress and adjust the Mix knob to taste.

- Modern version decouples attack from release and removes output saturation for clean tone with vintage punch.
