The year 2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the quest for the perfect guitar amplifier tone, and Mr. Hughes and Herr Kettner have celebrated this landmark by creating a limited edition TubeMeister series - with a difference: each amp features a complement of Soviet "New Old Stock" EL84 power tubes that were built long before Hughes & Kettner was even born. A dream of a tone-generating machine, this 30th Anniversary Edition still goes from clean to mean and from a roar to a whisper, shaking the planks on stage, tingling spines in the studio, and raising goose bumps in the still of night - but now with an extra dose of punch and attitude!

I've had this amp for a year now and it's an awesome amp. It sounds great and has so many features that I don't think you can get another amp that sounds this great with this many features for the price this amp sells for. 3 channels from shimmering clean to crunch to full blown distortion. The optional H&K 2 button footswitch with LED's (sells for $55) allows you to switch between them effortlessly. Another optional 2 button footswitch lets you turn the effects loop and global digital reverb on and off. The power soak - which is also midi footswitchable (36, 18, 5 and 1 watt) lets you play mid size venues at full 36 watts or your bedroom at 1 watt if you like.

Just bought this head tday. Have a Tubemeiser 18 Head and a Tubemeister 18 Combo 10" speaker. I'm blown away by the difference and improvement over the 18. The EQ's on both channels and volume and gain on all three channels makes it really more versatile then the 18. It's like I just got all new guitars the tone differences. Very Impressed no regrets, it's expensive but still a good step up from the 18. try it and see.

I recently purchased this amp along with a Traynor vertical 212 slant cabinet and I am very happy with it so far. The clean channel stays clean to max gain with a little bit of compression and crunch as the master volume gets closer to max. It's very loud in full power mode, and about twice as loud as my blackstar ht1 with the power soak in 1w mode.. The crunch channel starts to get compressed with gain around 9:00 and really gets a nice crunch around the 12:00 moving farther into overdrive from there. Lower gain settings on the lead channel are similar to high gain on the crunch channel, but with a little bit more grit moving up to super touch sensitive overdrive at the top end. The reverb sound pretty good on all 3 channels, but like it best with it on the crunch an clean channels. The soft case that came with it has good padding and quality zippers. I have a fsm432 mk3 midi controller for it as well which seems pretty easy to use, although I have only used it a couple time so far. Overall I am very happy with this amp and would definitely replace it with another h&k if anything was to happen to it. Probably the same model if it's still available. The NOS tube make it scream more than the original. (Which a friend of mine owns)
