All strong players know the importance of having a well-trained ear as critical in producing high-quality, confident improvisation. Recognizing this, the legendary teacher, Dr. Asher Zlotnik developed an ingenious system of ear training that allows for the instantaneous recognition of intervals, complex chords and progressions (and much more). He called it The Pivot System. The author spent five years studying this system with Dr. Zlotnik and was given Dr Z.'s blessing to teach it.
