Blackstar BEAM Mini Amp Review

Unfortunately, the companion Android app holds this product back from greatness. I ran into persistent login issues that made it difficult to even access the app's features. The software feels buggy overall: the built-in metronome doesn't produce audible sound, making it essentially unusable, and the music search function fails to return results most of the time.
I reached out to Blackstar support about these issues. They were responsive initially, but communication stalled after my follow-up messages, and I'm still waiting to hear back on a resolution.
The hardware itself deserves 5 stars, but the app experience drags the overall rating down. If Blackstar can iron out these software bugs and improve support follow-through, this would easily be a top-tier product. As it stands, I'd recommend it for the tone and amp quality alone, but go in with realistic expectations for the app.

It doesn't seem possible.

The build quality is top notch. At least as good as the Marshall BT speakers. Heavy duty rubber jacket, not the cheesy 'soft touch' rubber that dissolves after years of sweat. Metal jack input, grill, faceplate, buttons, dial and even the logo is CNC'd metal. As a Bluetooth speaker for music it sounds pretty good though you can hear a limiter compressing it at full volume if the song is bass heavy.
