A particularly wide power margin and axial deviation of less than half the format-specified amount ensure full compatibility with a wide range of DVD-Recordable drives up to 2x speed, including those used by Apple, Compaq, Packard-Bell and Sony (Vaio). The groove shape is optimised for ultra-low jitter and the land pre-pit shape is designed to yield exceptionally low PI error rates, typically less than 100 against the format specification of 280.
