I've used a number of mixers in my day, and this one is by far my favorite. It has great routing options for a mixer of this size, the ALT 3/4 is brilliant to use with my DAW for multitracking or to feed my SP-404 sampler with different sources... just route the ALT out to your sampler and your good to sample any source you want by hitting the mute alt 3/4 button. Sound wise it's super quiet and is perfect for recording a small ensemble. The pots feel great and another HUGE plus is the Stereo L/R control room. This way you can attenuate the sound going into your studio monitors from the mixer without jeopardizing the levels on the main mix output. Previous mixers I had either only had a mono monitor signal or none at all... which means I had to attenuate the levels on the monitors with the trim knobs, which isn't ideal. So... probably the best mixer I've owned, and I've tried a bunch, including the A&H Zed10, Yorkille PGM8, Mackie PROFX8 & original mackie MS1202 (from the 90's). If you get this, you will like it. One other thing to note, the AUX send/return doesn't waste a stereo channel (like on some mixers) they don't consider the AUX return one of the channels... so you can feed this with 2 mono & 3 stereo signals, tape in (for a 8/9 channel) and the Stereo Aux return for an additional 2 channels.

Great value, awesome sound, legendary Mackie build. Wish it had parametric mid-freq EQ.
