Program Notes
I never truly appreciated or recognized how pure and sweet a human could be until I became a father. Raising my daughter made me realize that, for as divisive our society can be, we the people who belong to it are all born innocent. Ideally, our children are raised in loving and supportive homes with the intention of growing into good, caring, and hardworking people, yet somewhere along the way, the innocence and gentle nature fade. Thats a sad reality and a difficult one to accept.

I love how my daughter walks up to kids at the playground and asks if they want to be her friend. I love how she runs from right field to third base to corral a ground ball hit 6 feet off a tee. I love how she loves to read and then make her own stories. I know that she won't always be this sweet, innocent little child; I just hope that the transformation happens naturally over time. Our children are the light of our lives. I just hope she doesn't let anyone dim her light simply because it's shining in their eyes.
