A Glimmer of Hope was written by educator and composer Dan Austin after witnessing his students struggling through traumatic events in their lives, and watching peers uplifting and supporting one another through these hard times. It reminds us that hope and kindness are at the core of human experience.

Program Notes
As a teacher, I often witness my students struggling through traumatic events in their lives. I find it so amazing and beautiful to watch those students' peers lift them up and support them through these times. It reminds me that hope and kindness are at the core of the human experience. I believe that, even during the darkest times, there is always hope. I believe in the kindness of humanity. And although there are times when all seems lost, there is always hope on the horizon if we look hard enough. This piece was written to be a celebration of that hope - the hope that all people can live together in a loving and safe world. Sometimes just a simple message is all we need. Hope is always there.
