Description
Top symphonic and jazz musicians have been using the Legere single reeds for more than a decade. From the principals of the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic orchestras, to jazz greats like Gerald Albright and Hamiet Bliuett, our reeds have been tested at the highest possible level. Now this same quality is available in a bassoon reed.
Like our single reeds, Legere bassoon reeds have all the depth and warmth that elite players demand. Because they are made from our specially prepared synthetic material, the deliver all the advantages of a traditional Legere reed: consistency, durability and an instant response.
Legere reeds are made from polypropylene, which is approved by the FDA for use in direct food contact applications, so our reeds are completely safe to use. For more information, see our Materials page.

I've been playing on these reeds for 8 years now and I'm never going back to cane. No more spending hours making reeds, no more need to soak them before you play, no more inconsistent reeds depending on the weather. This read is of superior quality and tone.

I would definitely recommend the soft model over the medium (I find it too resistant), but the sound quality is incredible and it has a huge dynamic range. They are a bit finicky, so make sure you do the reading, but they are really easy to use if you know how to maintain them (I've been using mine for just about a year now).
