Description
Play without reserve anywhere and anytime you want! The E-Sax Whisper Mute System is the only saxophone mute that allows for playing at full volume, while outside the case only a whisper can be heard. Monitor your actual sound (dynamics, timbre, etc...) via the ingenious pick-up system and headphones. Practice in a hotel, in your home, or even warm-up back stage during a performance. The E-Sax Mute also proves an excellent recording tool when the out lines are plugged directly into a recording device. The line in feature allows you to play along with a CD or karaoke style. Also has a built-in metronome.

I bought this product about a month ago, because I decided to focus mainly on one instrument, the alto sax. Problem is, it's super loud, and living in a small Vancouver condo, makes practicing without a mute untenable. I even tried practicing in the bike storage room, but it's just too loud. So I broke down and bought this expensive mute, because the only choice was this or don't play at all.
It's quiet enough that my neighbours to either side cannot hear me. The ones upstairs probably can, but they haven't complained. The speaker/headphone setup is great. I can plug my little drum machine into the auxiliary port and use that as a metronome.
It didn't take long to get used to the system, so much so that I almost forgot to mention it. I gave it a high rating, because it's the difference between playing sax and not playing at all.
