This unit is great. I recently upgraded to the VoiceLive 3 but used this for more than 2 years gigging 4-8 times per month and this thing stood up to the rigourous test of that. Great processing and fantastic for the harmonies. If you can score one of these for a good price, I wouldn't hesitate, if you aren't able to shell out for the newer models. You will not be disappointed.

This is an amazing product. I've giged with it for two years now, and it has completely changed our sound. People listen to recorded music constantly, and vocals on recorded music have a certain 'sound' due to the mastering / processing done by the studio. The effect is ultimately subtle (dial in as much or little as you want), but when you take it away, the voice sounds thin and wooden in comparison. This pedal essentially provides studio quality vocal processing for the live performer.

I am told it can do it...I see a guy on video doing it..but how do I SET UP the looper to point to the SHORTCUT button???? NOWHERRRRE does it explain the manual! NOWHERRRRE does it explain online I am sitting her wondering if I should have bought the 3 but nobody at the store told me or even explained the difference! FRUSTRATED! but...the UNIT ROCKS FOR HARMONY WOWW!!! very cool!!!! NOW IF I COULD JUST FIGURE OUT HOW TO LOOP WITH IT!!!!!! P Me Off!

I had owned this for several years before trading it in for the new VoiceLive 3. Worked great for me in the studio for producing and remixing. And for having fun and being inspired while playing / practicing / song writing. I found the harmonies more to my (subjective) liking than most of the software based on-the-fly harmony creators that I had tried. For the harmony creation (and other vocal pitch shifting effects) to work well, the voice audio input needs to be reasonably well isolated (i.e. not much bleed input from the rest of the band). The other vocal effects (there are quite a few) can be used even in a band setting like a stomp box for vocalists. The guitar chord recognition works remarkably well.

Don't listen to the other review, if you are a singer this is THE effects pedal to get, has everything you could ever need/want. I have the extreme addition and it rocks. Judging quality based on the condition of a rental is probably the stupidest thing anyone could ever do. If you are an average singer this pedal can make you sound like a pro. If you are good, it'll put you over the top. New presets added online is great too. Especially good for solo artists.

Cool features, but... cheap, chintsey plugs input/output wired directly to internal board, rental i tried was already getting loose and crackely, not a unit that seems to be able to handle the road well. Way, WAY overpriced, considering you could buy a laptop and better software to do the job on the fly as well for less money.
